Default Adding forums or sub forums

Sub forums for Full Ring, Short Handed and Heads up. I was thinking small stakes (.25/.50-1/2). As a mid stakes player I feel there should be a separate forum for (2/4-5/10) or whatever you would define as mid stakes. As I feel that there are some pretty major differences between the stakes.

The quality of regs change dramatically. A 50NL player could stumble across a hand from 400NL where Hero 4b/calls AJs for value. Since the 50NL player does not understand some of the more complicated processes may end up thinking that is the correct play.

I also believe that a division of stakes would prevent flaming of noobs. As I feel they would be less likely to try and partake in a discussion in a mid stakes forum where they know they are a micro grinder. Notice in the High Stakes forum there is less interference from noobs. Even if someone were to take the time and explain a complicated concept it would rarely be applicable at their level. In fact, the concept may even be missapplied and end up being severly detrimental to their poker learning. Also their 'poker iq' or lack there of, would rarely be able to contribute to the discussion in a positive way.

I feel that having a moderator who plays stakes above the forum itself would be able to greatly contribute to the forum. As a mid stakes player there are few resources that I have. They are limited to the few other mid stakes players. However, if we had a high stakes playing moderator I believe that they could help contribute more to a mid stakes forum than a micro or small stakes forum. Like a mid stakes player such as myself would mod the Small Stakes forum, and a high stakes take Renton or nutsinho would mod the mid stakes forum, and help a mid stakes player such as myself through that leg of my poker learning.

As a conclusion I feel that addition of these forums would help to streamline the forums into a more productive place to learn about your stakes. Also that a moderator a level above would be able to contribute much better than if they were to say moderator an entire subject such as Full Ring. Thus, more effectively allocating the resources in players that we have that spend time on this site.

Some good thoughts. However, we're not doing any forum changes at the moment until we upgrade to phpBB3. I believe phpBB3 is capable of sub-forums, whereas our current phpBB2 does not, so it's something we can consider in the future.
