The fact they mentioned Cascade hops in the ad has be intrigued. BUT they mention hops in the regular Budweiser commercials when it's clear that the closest they ever get to the beer might be a truck driving by the brewery or something.

my beer brewing buddy calls cascade hops "the phil collins of hops"
    not a good thing

inside joke= anything that sucks is refered to as phil collins

i like long trail ipa and it is made with cascade hops

I love cascade hops, they're in Sierra Nevada, my all-time fave. I used to brew a lot and they were one of my top choices for finishing and dry-hopping. Your buddy's the Phil Collins of beer snobs.

I'm hoping for something like Schlitz, "just a kiss of the hops". So only moderate expectations, but should be cheep on tap.

    just drank one

dang good for a bud product, no lacking of hops, resembles long trail ipa and a brooklyn brewery beer(not sure which one but it is the free one they serve downstairs in the lounge on thursdays)
imo overpriced for what it is
paid $11.50 in manhattan which is the same range of most premium beers(sierra nev = $11.99)

going to drink a few more to make sure it gives the desired condition

$11.50 for a six pack, which includes bottle deposit and NYC fuck you in the ass taxes

dale's pale ale is $12.99 and sierra neva is $11.99 before the extras are added in

Holy fuck, Sierra Nevada is $12 here for a 12 pack plus 5% sales tax.

Obviously I couldn't afford to live in NY.

im about to go to the beer store, will pick up a 6 pack and report
  26. #26
ok so i just got a six pack of this. 6.99. Going into this i wasn't expecting much, just not a big fan of anheuser busch products in general. Overall it is a good beer. First sip was very hoppy, not as hoppy as an ipa but more like a sam adams. It was slightly sweet, but not 2 sweet. It has a hoppy, slightly bitter finish. It doesnt have the depth of flavor of a regular sam adams, but is a decent beer overall. I also agree with flomo, the better got better as it warmed up a bit in the glass.
  27. #27
Alright, finally! I agree Trikflow, this beer is similar to Sam Adams ( the basic Sam, which I think is called Boston Ale?). I never thought I would enjoy a product from Budweiser, but I do like this. My first thought is that this is a result of the buy out from the giant Belgian company, but I dont think they could develop this and get it on the market in this short of a time frame. This must have been already in the works for some time. I'm sure the management was looking at microbrews taking a larger and larger bite of their market.

How can Budweiser produce American Ale any longer?

Since they are no longer American owned?

Or does that not even factor in.

    Go Labatt Blue!

Oh wait, that wasn't very patriotic of me...

Just had the American tonight (in a bottle) because I saw it at the bar. To me it's a way thicker version of Killian's. Didn't notice any hops (and I drink Schlitz at home, "just a kiss of the hops"). I'll personally never order this beer again unless it's a draft special then I'll give it a second chance.

Hey swiggs, two people were arguing between Miller Light and Coors light at b-dubs last night, I stepped in and used your "they both suck if you two knew anything about beer...blah blah blah" line and they both shut up, said "yea you're right" and I felt all cool and shit.
