From 16 cents to 10k
This is my first pokerblog, I know I'm still some sort of noob, but since I've read some blogs and saw some big names made something out of nothing I wanted to try that too. Because I had done a deposit on Full tilt of 10 dollars(before I knew anything about bankroll management) I still had 16 cents on my account.
I knew I liked the lay-out of Full-tilt, so I knew this should be the place where I will make 10k out of 16 cents. I'm playing the bankrollmanagement idea out when I got to 20 dollars.
So let's start this out. What could I possibly play with 16 cents on FT... Let's try a ringgame. No I couldn't really you should have 70 cents. I couldn't do anything with 8BB on a ring table, that would be redicioulous.
So let's take a look to the tournaments. I could have played the 0+0,10 dollar tournament. This is a Rebuy tournament and I'am not that good in Rebuy play on this moment. With the fact that I can't rebuy cause I only have my beautiful 16 cents. So This is a little bit chanceless.
I had 10 playerpoints, but they were almost useless too, so i decided to start a freeroll. Even in this one I've got two options, one of my country, where 27 of 950 reaces the money, it would be a late registration. Normally I should say: NO! But this time the real, real donks are already killed so my 'skill' could be enough to reacht te best 27 players.
I went stupidly all-in with my KJ-AQ, but at the end, I dubbled up, so I slowly went up to the best 27. After that lucky one hand I moved up slowly and just played out my trips, reads en TPTK's and better and after an hour or so, I had the chiplead with this hand:
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 200/400 Blinds 50 Ante (8 handed) -
MP1 (t3255)
MP2 (t13448)
CO (t20908)
Button (t27850)
SB (t24280)
Hero (BB) (t40874)
UTG (t18074)
UTG+1 (t28235)
Hero's M: 40.87
Preflop: Hero is BB with Kh,Ks
4 folds, CO calls t400, Button calls t400, 1 fold, Hero bets t2000, CO calls t1600, Button calls t1600
Raising with the kings, sure
Flop: (t6600) 2c,Ac, Kd
Hero bets t3600, 1 fold, Button raises to t25800 (All-In), Hero calls t22200
And getting the chips in with a set of kings. I was almost sure the other player had a range of {AA-A2s), so I would only lose against the rockets, and because it's a freeroll, just go all in(Otherwise too I guess)
Turn: (t58200) Qd (2 players, 1 all-in)
River: (t58200) 9d (2 players, 1 all-in)
Total pot: t58200
After this big pot I had some fun chatting with some Dutch guys and I made some homework in the while, just like a ordinary nice (Dutch) tournament. I almost took a beer out of the fridge, but I knew this wouldn't be the best for my play.
Slowly, people eated my stack and in the end I didn't took any good pots anymore and lost a KK-AQ all-in preflop and ended up 18th, what means I got my 2 dollars!
Roll $2.16
I thought Let's play a $1+0,2 SnG 9-man, I could reach something so I get immediate a roll of 6 bucks, but I didn't played it out well and I made a stupid mistake and finally ended 5th...
Roll: 96 cents
Now I still remembered that 70 cents! I can put all my roll into a 2NL game. At the end I won 61 cents so my roll now is:
Roll: $1,57
Tomorrow I'm trying to play two 2NL tables at once, that seems stupid, but if I make a bad call or lose something like KK-AA I don't lose my entire roll at once. When I have $2.10 in total I will stop again and play again with two tables of 70 cents and have 70 cents in my available roll.
So I learned:
If you have earned $2 on a freeroll and you don't want to play them anymore Don't play $1,- SnG, just Play 2NL until 10 dollar. At FT Shallow stack is recommended!(buy-in 40c-80c)
Won at the end:
$1,41
