88 makes set, scary board
Villain runs 29/10 over 300 or so hands. He seems like the typical loose passive preflop player, tight passive post flop. Folds to cbets often. I have seen him limp AK and AQ behind limpers as well.
I figured firing the flop was ideal because it keeps the looser players in who like their two pairs, big FD etc. (They may even reraise me here. yay!) I'm not entirely sure about checking the turn however. After this player called my pot-sized flop bet and fires the turn, I put him on a flush or a set a good amount of the time. So I c/call because I have up to 10 outs, (unless he has a bigger set) and I'm pretty sure I can get him commited on the river if I hit. I folded the river because I'm behind everything he value bets here, even though his bet is only 1/4ish pot. Even if the river had come as a blank, I still would have folded to almost any bet most of the time.
How is my thought process? And is this standard?
