    Default Reply to : so many spots against tightasses spot

    I just want to do some equity calculations in response to mxiu thread as i believe every player comes through this spot all the time and dread the decision as they go through the ranks.Easy or not depends on villains.Just want to start some discussion on some values.

    Villain is 9/7/2 over 850 hands 29% fold to 3bet

    Villain UTG open,Hero 3bet,Villain calls

    Comes Flop :
    7h,Js,3s

    Villain's flop range is 22+,AKs

    Assuming
    Villain continues with 33,77,JJ,QQ,KK,AKs,AA = 17 combos

    Villain doesnt continue 22,44,55,66,88,99,TT = 42 combos

    17/42 = 40.5% calls and 59.5% folds

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 54.842% 52.77% 02.08% 12015 472.50 { AcAd }
    Hand 1: 45.158% 43.08% 02.08% 9810 472.50 { JJ+, 77, 33, AsKs }

    So what equity we need to break even?

    $116 stacks

    - $31 in pot

    $85 to win $147 or $148.50 with blinds (villain's stack + pot + blinds)

    85/233.50 = 0.36

    so we need 36% equity

    I think your ranges are way off but that's for the other thread..
