id say you can get away with playing tight at lower stakes but LAG is by far the best when you start moving up in stakes....just my opinion

Yes, the best strategy is to adapt to the player. Try to know what to him is a "good bet" so u can dump your j-2 and eat the blinds. Some people just never fold to a 3x-4xBB raise in heads up, you gotta be aware if hes one of these players so you can play with your range and his range better. But since it's the beginning of a heads up, you don't know the player, so to me, the best strategy is fold the first hand unless its a made hand and play tight agressive until you get a hold on is style.

Usualy, in heads up 2$ or 5$ your opponent is gonna be either very weak or very strong. If you get to play a strong player, I suggest you to raise your gaming level and change the size of your bets frequently to confuse him.

If hes not hyperaggressive raise at least 33% of your preflop but watch out because some players are not agressive preflop and are hyperagressive post flop with any given hand. As a general rule try to attack on the small blind and defend on the big blind; but dont defend too much, don't be scared to fold your shit hands to his small raises.

But as a given strategy, if you want one, try to float and go in with a set or better, top pair good kicker isnt usualy bad on a drawing board. But if its not a drawing board and you dont know where you stand watch out with just a pair. Check-raise big hands unless hes weak tight, if hes weak tight just do a progressive betting like usual with a big hand AND THEN POP HIM ON THE RIVER.

I like marijuanagaming's viewpoint. I think be aggressive is the key in head's up. But as it was already said, the more important is to adjust to the opponent : if he's always trying to trap you with monster without raising, be aggressive is obviously not a good idea. Nevertheless, against most players, being aggressive will be very difficult to read.

Just play erradically and do a bunch of weird unexplainable shit (like open shove for 110BB's or donk for like 4x pot) get up like 1/4 of a BI until he quits you for playing so crazy. Rinse and repeat.

The trick to winning hu sng, is to exploit your opponent. Tag Lag. I alwasy start off lag. If opponent plays lag u play tag and vice versa. Take control of each situation.

    Default heads up

the best way to play is to see if your opponent is loose aggressive then wait 4 big hands and trap them in loosing their chips if ur playing some1 who is a rock then u hav options to bluff them off potts and pretty much keep the pot control in your favour
