It doesn't particularly pleasant, however if you run the ranges through pokerstove you'll see that this is never not a snap call.

I also think betting is std. here vs. 2 players. (If you check sometimes vs. 1 opponent you're just giving a free card to what is probably 6 outs but vs. 2 it's obviously closer to 12.)

We need 32% Equity to make the call.
Even if we assume that he has every made hand that beats us in his range -every set, every two pair, every overpair, every flopped straight and that he always raises the flop with them & never raises anything on the flop that we beat, we still have 27% equity vs. him Even if we just add in 66 and 1 pair & Straight Draw combo (56o) we already have the equity we need.

The reality is he doesn't have all those made hands in his PF calling range and he isn't always raising them on the flop either and even the most passive player is raising a wider range than I assigned. Never mind a weak SS with an AF of 2 playing 40% of his hands.

We're multiway with initiative and a vulnerable hand that is probably best against a shortstack who we're not folding to.

If this is the first time you've seen him do anything but call down, it's obviously closer but noble's range show's that its at worst a small mistake. I don't use a HUD, so I'm not sure what the aggression frequency stat really means, but I see these shorties doing this with K5o all day, especially if you've been aggro.

I check behind because I dont expect any worse hands to call, so its hard to say we're value betting, and yet we're not bluffing either.
