    Default 50nl - meh bluff?

villain has been active so far this session, has cold 4bet me from the BB already, running like 22/18 or something so I imagine he's a tag regulator of some sort. Lost my DB from my earlier days at 50nl so I can't remember if we have history.

I'm running the usual 18/16 or w/e stealing too much, I've folded to a few 3bets this session already, not sure if he has seen this, but I wasn't about to just fold again because I haz position and 98s (yeah im a donk..i know) and i've already been folding too much. Plus I can flop like a flush draw and shit.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    BB ($56.75)
    UTG ($54.75)
    UTG+1 ($33.45)
    MP1 ($51.50)
    MP2 ($55.10)
    CO ($43.85)
    Hero (Button) ($57.75)
    SB ($47.55)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8, 9
5 folds, Hero bets $1.50, 1 fold, BB raises to $5.50, Hero calls $4

    Flop: ($11.25) 7, 3, 6 (2 players)
BB bets $6.50, Hero calls $6.50

    Turn: ($24.25) 8 (2 players)
BB bets $14, Hero raises to $45.75 (All-In)

I guess it's hard to give an unknown credit for being able to lay down like JJ or something here though I suppose he could have AK and some random crap often enough to make the laydown. Good news is we have some equity when called :/

I decide to float flop because bluff raising here won't get me any credit (?).

At least my line is balanced

    flame on..

hmm we actually have the best hand on the turn vs all his air

    how bout calling?

I think we can assume any air (which was probably bad to 2 barrel w/o shoving river?) is going to give up alot on the river. If he shoves river we can call it off if we improve.

    I'm such a dope.

yeah, calling turn is best imo. You just picked up some SD value vs. AK/AQ, etc. And you still have decent equity to draw out if he has you beat atm.

    flat, eval river. ez game.

yeah i dunno what i was thinking trying to get an overpair to fold in a 3bet pot. guess i just like being aggressive for the sake of raising.

If we're going to raise it should be on the flop imo

hmm, I called because I typically peel with most of my continuing range - but do I really need to worry about that here?

i like to raise the flop as well. just to make it uncomfortable to play most overpairs OOP on the turn and hopefully receive a free card. shoving turn doesnt really fold out much we beat imo.
