Default Operation: Stop being a spewtard

So this is my OP, some of you guys might know me from IRC or the BC. I've only really started playing poker seriously around August and after a lot of dicking around and getting lucky I've turned my $25 investment into $800 (at something around $2.50 an hour )

Anyways, I started playing 2nl at Stars for like three thousand hands but decided Sit n Goes might be more my cup 'o tea since I was finishing Harrington on Hold'em II at the time. Anyways I played really bad and after like 12 of them I decided to go back to ring games. I played 2nl FR > 5nl FR > 10nl FR and had a nice heater. After that I played really bad for like 20k hands with no studying and broke even/lost a little. I decided to switch to 6max Fulltilt and it's been working pretty well. Just moved up to 25nl and I think I'll be staying here for a solid 100k hands till I really figure wtf I'm doing.

I'll be posting updates and hands and whatever in here just like everyone else does. I'm really just making this for me to channel my thoughts and think about poker some more, and hopefully it leads to some good discussion.

I'll add more to this post later I just really wanted to make it asap since I promised myself I would get more serious about studying etc. once I hit 25nl.

Good luck. If you can control spew, then you're pretty much unlimited in terms of potential.

So I had my biggest loss today ever of $170 at 25nl 6max. I was cruising up to $1000 in my bankroll but now I'm looking at a sad little $680 and the prospect of moving back down if I drop below $600.

This is probably the worst I've ever felt from poker and I know a 7BI swing is possible but it was over 1k hands in one day and I really just feel so shitty.

I'll be doing review on all the hands from the session that I lost more than 30bb in tom. at some point right now I think I'll just cry myself to sleep
I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.

The fact that its taken me a week to decide to actually analyze those hands is evidence of the fact that I sometimes I make myself believe I can just glide my way through 25nl but I know I can't. I know I can't. Need to study more, so I picked up The Psychology of Poker, The Mathematics of Poker (which probably won't help my game that much directly but I find it interesting), and Winning in Tough Hold'em Games which is apparently a semi-new 2p2 book I probably should've read some reviews before picking it up but it looked interesting.

Anyways, heres the big losers from my spewfest last week. I'll post them in the order they happened:

    Hand 1:

Villain is 21/16/7.6 over 392 w 14% went to showdown and 100% double barrel over 68% over 22 cbet opportunities.

    CO Ardarandir ($68.10)
    BTN neCro72o ($25.20)
    SB sokrates22 ($71.38)
    BB Hero ($27.95)

    Pre-Flop: ($0.65, 6 players) Hero is BB
2 folds, Ardarandir raises to $1.15, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.90

He oepns 20% from the CO, is 3betting or folding way better?

    Flop: ($2.70, 2 players)
Hero checks, Ardarandir bets $2, Hero calls $2

If I'm planning on floating another barrel then is raise/folding better here?

    Turn: ($6.70, 2 players)
Hero checks, Ardarandir bets $5, Hero calls $5

Given the stats I don't think I can call flop and fold here, and my plan is c/f all rivers. I know my line is fucking terrible, just wondering what's better given I called preflop.

    River: ($16.70, 2 players)
    Hero checks, Ardarandir checks

    Hand 2:
Villain is 63/24/2.2 over 159 with 43ATS and 49ATS from the CO. I haven't 3bet him before but he has 53% Cold Call and 37% went to showdown which I guess means he probably isn't folding a lot.

    SB MeAndTheDoggies ($66.96)
    BB jlpirate ($57.44)

    Pre-Flop: ($0.35, 6 players) Hero is BTN
2 folds, EL TOPO- 0000 raises to $0.85, Hero raises to $2.50, 2 folds, EL TOPO- 0000 calls $1.65

I don't like calling a lot because most of his range is weak over cards like J8o type stuff that I'm not really ahead of and also don't have a lot of implied odds against. At the same time he folds to cbets only 40% so 3betting can't be real good unless I think he holds enough cards lower than a 6 or he'll fold a lot to the 3bet (this is what I was thinking). Surely I cant fold 66 IP here?

    Flop: ($5.35, 2 players)
EL TOPO- 0000 checks, Hero bets $3.75, EL TOPO- 0000 calls $3.75

Standard. I would expect to take it down here a lot.

    Turn: ($12.85, 2 players)
EL TOPO- 0000 checks, Hero bets $7, EL TOPO- 0000 calls $7

I think I need to stop assuming this type of villain can fold AQ and JJ TT type stuff here and just give it up.

    River: ($26.85, 2 players)
    EL TOPO- 0000 goes all-in $4.01, Hero calls $4.01

Is this a fold? I'm sure its marginal if it is but all I beat is lower pocket pairs and some low Axs type hands. If those are even in his range.

    Hand 3:

Villain is 54/14/2.2 over 28 hands w 36% cold call.

    Pre-Flop: ($0.65, 6 players) Hero is SB
    Mikeyc2500 raises to $1, 3 folds, Hero raises to $3, 1 fold, Mikeyc2500 calls $2

I think I 3bet because I thought he would call with worse and wasn't positionally aware +get more money in early oop but im not sure I have the reads to assume that.

    Flop: ($6.55, 2 players)
    Hero bets $2.75, Mikeyc2500 calls $2.75

I figured his range is pretty weak with worse pocket pairs and overcards etc. Didn't want to blow him out of the water.

    Turn: ($12.05, 2 players)
    Hero checks, Mikeyc2500 bets $1.25, Hero raises to $6.50, Mikeyc2500 raises to $13, Hero goes all-in $19.20, Mikeyc2500 calls $6.20

I don't know why I checked. I must have thought he was really weak for some reason. Anyways leading like 6.50 or seven would be better here right?

As played getting it in is fine right?or can I fold to the 3bet?

    River: ($50.45, 2 players, 1 all-in)

    Hand 4:

Both villains are okay regulars. I think this is just a cooler. Anything wrong w/ the turn play? Is checking the flop bad?

1.50 is probably better but whatever this is standard

    Flop: ($2.85, 2 players)
Hero bets $1.75, zuqqi calls $1.75

cbetting here is fine he has 54% fold to cbet and I can improve.

    Turn: ($6.35, 2 players)
    Hero checks, zuqqi checks

I think I checked for the same reason I would convince myself this would be a good barrel card were I holding a hand that missed. This is backwards imo. People can't fold and I should bet here just not too much. Probably 3.75-4.25. If I do bet here, what do I do when the Td falls the river? b/f small? c/f?

    River: ($6.35, 2 players)
Hero checks, zuqqi bets $6, Hero calls $6

As played is this fine? I don't think he bluffs alot here but he vbets worse?

    Hand 8:

same guy as the 99 one who can't fold to 3bets and who I ran KK into. 40/33/1.5 12.5 3bet 4 bet maybe 3 times before this one was AA.

Should I just get it in pre?

not worried at all about jkfemma. Jkeene on the other hand can have KQ 77 44 QQ some FD combos like 56. Maybe like QJ I don't really have reads on him.
