when to move from 50nl fr to 100?
I'm not going to turn this into a statcheck thread I'm more interested in getting some opinions from ppl who have previously moved from 50 to 100... More along the lines of when/why did you?
I guess a little background on where I'm at would help. I've always had trouble moving up mainly because I think I have a hard time adjusting to the larger amount of money on the table and of course there's always an adjustment needed since different levels play differently.
Let's start back in December where I moved up to 50 successfully after being away from poker for a full month and never beating it consistently before. I had tried to move up to 50nl fr previously jumping straight up from 25 when my bankroll allowed it but always broken even for long stretches or worse, was negative. I guess the break allowed me to clear my head and forget about 25 as I jumped to 50 upon returning in December and ran at about 4.15 BB/100 over almost exactly 10k hands. I was ecstatic with this and was even more so when I didn't get cocky and blow it all back in January as I am prone to do. Ran 2.5ish over 14k hands in Jan. I know I didn't play as well partially due to stress from gf/work and partially I lost buyins on a few boneheaded allins. Nonetheless positive was a good result imo. Now in Feb I'm up 6 BIs over 2k hands a combo of running hot and playing well (yay no boneheaded shoves or playing cocky!). So I'm thinking that barring a horrible rest of Feb I'm going to move to 100 in march.
So my questions to you: what kind of a winrate at 50 should I work towards before moving up? What was yours at 50 before moving up? Any suggestions for someone who has trouble adjusting to more $ on the table? why did u move up when u did? And of course feel free to share your tales of moving up.
Fwiw I wrote this on my phone so I apologize for the inevitable errors in grammar and I play on UB which is def softer than PS/FT if that factors into your thoughts.
