Default 100NL - Take free card with TP/FD?

Villain is 24/19, flop aggression of 4. Seems to have a standard, decent game.

So originally I was going to post about the turn, but now I'm second guessing the flop. If I had KdQd I think the flop would be fairly standard, but considering I have a made hand and a draw, should I just be flatting this flop?

As played, is there merit in checking back the turn? I mean, if I shove I don't see what I'm ahead of aside from some AdKd type hand, but I think he ships the flop some % of the time with a hand like that. So is this a spot where I should take a free card and reevaluate on the river?

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP ($100)
    CO ($74.65)
    Hero (Button) ($369)
    SB ($117.75)
    BB ($146.25)
    UTG ($101.50)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, 9
    1 fold, MP bets $3.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $3.50, 2 folds

    Flop: ($8.50) J, 3, 5 (2 players)
MP bets $6, Hero raises to $22, MP calls $16

    Turn: ($52.50) 6 (2 players)
    MP checks, Hero ?

I think it is important to be able to credibly raise flops of this texture so I normally raise this hand as part of a balanced range. However your sizing is ridiculously bad as it gives you a bad price on your bluffs and seems to target hands you are only flipping with to continue against your hands like the one you have. At 100bb in a vacuum I think the best size with your hand or a set is a raise to like 14.50 and as a bluff or semibluff to ~19 so I would pick something in between those numbers.
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

Yeah, my bet sizing post-flop is always a bit of a guessing game for me. I'll have to work on that, thanks for the feedback.

So assuming my bet was 16ish, is there value in taking a free card on the turn?

I agree I think a bet of 14-17 would be fine on the flop...
and the turn is tough. I would say go ahead and bet around half pot...

although a check i guess could be good. what is villians range here? flush draw Jx? Seems like there is a good chance that his hand is better than yours.

Also I dunno if J9s is the greatest hand to play from the BU... maybe it would be a better hand to 3b here?

Check back the turn, getting raised here is a total fail. If any worse hands have peeled this flop, they're probably folding to a turn bet; you're not getting 3 streets anyways. No better hands are folding on this card so I'm not turning this into a bluff either.
