Default How to "Properly" Use HEM / PT3 to help you improve your game

I feel like I seriously suck at using HEM to analyze my play. Yea every few thousands of hands I have a review HEM session but I think it cud be a lot more productive if I knew how to properly use the filters and other craps and figure out for myself whats working or not working, etc.

If anyone can post sort of a "guide" or something on how to have a productive HEM review sessions it would be awesome.

If any of the regs would be willing to take 20-30min of their time to teamspeak/skype and show me how to efficiently and productively use HEM for review session, I would really appreciate it.

Have you tried the articles in HEM. There are 8 of them at the top, the first three will help a ton.

    The filters are key.

I haven't spent too much time with them yet but I've watched several vids that explain some good filters (PM me if you want them).

Basically, think about spots where you might have leaks. For example, flatting 3bs oop. You can take your months play and then use the filters (click filter button at top, the click edit. click other filters tab and choose "faced preflop 3bet = true" and look at the hands by starting position). Then you can see how much money you've won/lost overall and look at specific hands to analyze your play. If you've lost more than you would have by just folding to every 3b (besides 4bing for value) then you've found a leak.

There are several ways to look into your game through Holdem manager (in my case). Here is what I recommend:

    1) Look spots where you are losing money and use filters to identify similar situations.
    2) General stats check every now and then (there are tons of articles about it)
    3) After your sessions, look into the hands that you lost more and you won more and think how could you have played it better.
    4) Other thing that I like very much to do and that works is to filter hands that went to showdown (not all in pre flop preferably) but you were not involved. I replay all those hands with the cards faced down and try to put both oponents in ranges based on their stats. The good thing is that you actually can see their hands after showdown and make lots of notes that will help you.
    5) Analyze hands that you were involved and went to showdown using the range tool. This tool absolutely is great to visualize ranges and the amount of cards combinations. It is great to use fairly old hands that you do not remember so you can actually put people in ranges without being biased about it.
