Default My mind froze in this one...I think is a snap call right?

I'm trying to put people in ranges, but this hand was strange. In retrospect, I think he has a draw many times here and I should have definitelly called here.

    Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) - Party-Poker Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
    Button ($9.95)
    SB ($18.19)
    Hero (BB) ($10.81)
    UTG ($8.01)
    MP ($29.07)
Preflop: Hero is BB with K, K[img]

Villain was 62/38 over 28 hands. He had bet one flop out of 11 and 4 turns out of 7.

    http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerforum/images/smilies/club.gif[/img]
UTG calls $0.10, 3 folds, Hero bets $0.40, UTG calls $0.40

I think he would have called here with many A-x, some mid to low PPs and perhaps some broadways.

    Flop: ($1.05) A, 5, J (2 players)
    Hero checks, UTG checks

A-x is in his range and I was not getting these hands to fold. I would probably fold to a bet right now. He checks behind, which, to be honest would be strange for someone with top pair medium kicker. I think his range is somewhat polarized between trips and draws.

    Turn: ($1.05) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.70, UTG raises $1.40, Hero folds
    Total pot: $2.45

I just did not see it coming. I think he can do this with lots of draws or to get value from the other flush draw. Even though it is unlikely that he has an ace, my mind froze and I folded. I was getting 18% odds on a call. I put him on the following range (please see if that makes sense):

A4 (made 2 pair), 44, flush draws and combo draws. He could have slowplayed trips, but I really think this should be a call. His min raise is stronger than a shove to me, so...I folded (such a nit).

Fish don't min-raise the turn with draws, they call. At 62 VP$IP, he could really have anything here but the only hand you beat is Jx. It really sucks to fold to this minraise but you could be dead to 2 outs and you're not calling a substantial river bet. I don't hate the check and like a fold here.

mega fish will call pre with any Ax, but not any Jx, and they don't have as many suited hands in relation to the rest of their range. If he calls pre with ~50% of his hands then he ends up having ~20% Ax, 28% other pairs and 5% flushdraws. - You can bet for value, but you probably won't get 3 streets, and letting him draw isn't a big deal because he has more draws to 2nd pair than he has to a better hand.

So I don't hate the flop check.

But you can bet the flop for value, and it's probably superior to checking.
The reason why this is a really bad check against a tougher opponents is because you're betting all your air, draws and Ax hands. So your checking range is absurdly well defined and he can play perfectly against you. - That's not really an issue here.

As played the turn is a really easy fold. What do you expect him to c/r there?

The strengh of a hero is defined by the weakness of his villains.

I personally would have spent my 7bi's on a flop bet/fold. I think you put yourself in a bad position because you don't know if he raised you on the turn because you showed weakness after the A landed on the flop. I think you would have had a much better chance of him folding with a flop bet cuz then he'd be in the same position you put yourself in. May not be right but I think it would have been a much better play on the flop! I don't hate the fold as played though.
