    Default Mucked KK on flop

1-3 NL live game. Villan is a regular, called by his first name by the dealers and floor and is 18/6 over three hours. c/r flopped top sets twice vs. over pairs to double up twice.

    Villan $600
    Me %200

    I get on the button.

    Multiple limpers...
Villan raises to $16 in the cutoff.
    I re to $48.
Limpers fold. Villan pauses for 10 seconds... asks "how much more?" and calls.

    Flop comes
Villan bets out $85 into $102 pot...?!?!

Was he open ended now with QQ and wanted to gamble? did he flop his set again? if so why didn't he c/r like the two other times before? I was baffled. Could he make the same play with KK also? In hindsight i should have shipped my last $150 (cause this was just a cash game right and could he really be 3/3 flopping set vs. overpairs??) but then he'd have great pt odds to call anyway and maybe suck out if he was on a draw. If it was just a move, it was ballsy and i give him credit... i mucked because i could not decide what to do. any ideas?

i thought so to afterwards but in the moment i just could not figure out why he was betting into me on that flop and why so much. Everyone at the table knew i had AA or KK. If he had QQ with this flop and i rr all in, he would have the chips committed to call with 6 more outs (or if he put me on AA, he would have given himself 8 more outs and figured himself to be 40% on the flop) but he seemed too tight for such a play. i slept better telling myself he had JJ. i dunno... that why I asked... next time I'll ship it!
