    Default Little Big Planet Revival

So I just bought the game of the year edition. I had borrowed a coworkers copy previously so I've been LBPless the last few months. People, if you have a PS3, buy this game. It's like the next generation mario but multiplayer and has a big community following. People without a PS3, grind out the 30k fpps or whatever it is on stars and get one. Stop sucking at life.

So far I've played with wildbob and Will. Will needs to get a better internet connection or stop downloading gay pron but its been a lot of fun so far. Watching people eat it as you're running across the board (imagine mario with multiplayer) is hilarious.

Xianti is going to get it or I'll beat him up

Is it really that good? What sets it apart from other games? Hell, if it's that sick multi-player, I may just have to buy it.

It's extremely simple yet entertaining. There's no insane story like gears of war or complex strategy like a starcraft. It's a fun way to kill 40-80 minutes messing around with friends or strangers cooperatively.

Watch the gameplay vids on youtube. All you use is a jump, run, and grab as your actions. However, the map designs are clever and the community portal allows for unlimited new worlds. It's literally a more advanced version of mario with multiplayer. Some maps even encourage/require teamwork to get through them (ie you can't get past a certain point without 2-4 players pulling levers, etc)

    Here's a good example of 4 player: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LN5TYzKkQuQ&feature=fvw

It's not the most complicated level but imagine running across while screaming and laughing at teammates, pretty fun imo

$50. This is $10 lower (plus no tax). I don't have it yet in stock though...should be here in two days. Factory sealed and all.

P.S. Throw in some FTP clothing (if you got any) and the price may go down

The only thing I really pwned you at was bitch slapping you! We were probably even score-wise.. Shit, I was dying all over the place, even on the levels I had played before.

That was a LOT of fun, and I can't wait to play with more than 2 players at a time. Also, that was the first time I've used a wireless headset to play a game, that added SO much to the experience.

Well, if LBP isn't enough to convince you, there's also the recently released Uncharted 2 which is IMO one of the best games I've ever played. Oh and God of War 3 is coming out next year... Yea, it'll easily waste all the free time that you don't have...

So I did the creator tutorials (not that I plan on creating levels, I just wanted the trophy). It's amazing how simple they made it to create a level but how complex the levels can become.

The community levels never cease to amaze me. People put in so much work into these things...and they do come out real nice.

In other news, I'll probably be putting LBP down to collect dust in 6 days, 2 hours, and 13 minutes.

Little Big Planet is a great game... for a few hours. Then you have finished the main quest and have to wade through all the player made content in hopes of finding good maps

The player-generated maps tend to be awful, poorly designed and lack imagination. It takes a very long time to find a map worth playing.
  55. #55
IF you follow the 4 star and 5 star rated worlds you will find tons of great levels. This is not my experience at all. Also, don't just play for a few hours, try to complete the levels, 100% is not an easy thing to accomplish and takes hours on each level to do.

I disagree. Even after you finished the main story, they have a ton of replay value. However, I'm the kind of person that likes to go back and get every goodie/trophy there is to get.

Also, don't just click Community and expect to find a bunch of good levels. Obviously the majority of user-made levels are going to be trash. If you go to Community and search for the "Highest Rated," or "Most Hearted" levels, you'll find plenty of great levels there. I can make a couple of recommendations as a matter of fact:

    1) The Unfair Platformer (1 & 2)
    2) Digitized Reality

Bigred recommended the Simple Complications series to me. I played the first one but never got to complete it. It's an amazing level but it's pretty damn hard. A lot of time is needed to complete the level.

The glowing blue guy was my son, we were making our own level when Chris joined. I was making dinner so he was playing most of the time early while I watched and kept having to get up. I wear the helmet. I gotta get my blue tooth working. Typing on that game is a waste of time. I have it recognized it just wont transmit. Didn't help that my son would not stop trying to grab the controller to play, he loves multiplayer

sorry there. I'm not used to playing games with kids anymore. Oh, and there may or may not have been some alchohol involved. I have to change my ways soon anyways, my kids are definitely starting to get interested in VG's finally (3 and 5 yrs)

The donkey tails were a mess, we couldn't see anything, same with the 50 pairs of sunglasses and daffodils you pasted to my face. My son is 5 and he gets caught up sometimes in doing things that are a little less interesting like playing with costumes and trying to get the stickers perfect for switches so I had to keep on him last night while we were playing. He tends to bolt ahead too when he knows where he's going when others haven't caught up but he's pretty good at the game most of the time.

Yeah...he's just excited to play the game. I'm sure I felt the same way playing Mario when I was that age.

And I find it pretty damn cool that you guys play video games with your kids. Little Big Planet is probably the perfect game for that since it's fun for adults and OK for kids to play.

Just avoid connecting to CBC via bluetooth (mute button ftw).
