    Default Maximising your opponents EV

Being the self absored bastard that you are, you may have never asked yourself that question: How can I make my opponent the most money?

Whenever you're facing a decision... whether it's if you should open 7Jo in the CO or cb a certain texture or when you face a mindonk. Don't just think: how do I get the most value. Think: how can I loose the most money with this hand. And then you do not do that.

This is pretty much just a variation on this: YouTube - The Most Inspiring thing ever said...

Find some hands where you made your opponents leaks correct by your dumb play, and explain. I'll find some of my own and post them after my session.

This one should earn me a few trouts across the face in irc...

I don't need my opponents to have leaks to maximize their EV: I can do that all by myself.

On the turn I remember thinking that it would be OK to slowplay this a bit because I am way ahead. I was kinda hoping that the CO would silly bet again, which would sweeten the pot and I didn't want to push him out.

'nyway he didn't bet and I completely zapped on the river. It only took me like half a second after I raised to go "OH, NO F*CK". The only semi-surprise is that it's the CO who showed a K (and an A, just to hammer the point) and not UTG.

I think UTG had the same brain fart and also didn't see the baby straight on the board.

Lesson learned: always take 5 seconds to re-read the board and think about opp's cards before squeezing the trigger...

Here's mine. I don't remember much about the opponent, but I did call pre primarily to set mine. I would not continue to aggression if I flopped an overpair. His flop sizing does not convince me that his range is much weaker, but I do get the implied odds to call. + He might just have AK and shut down... even tho unlikely. On the turn I no longer get the implied odds to call, but being the brilliant mind that I am I might be able to represent a heart or a club on the river on a board that already looks really scary for AA. - Obviously the biggest shortcoming of inexperienced players is that they can never get away from overpairs. He might not even get away from TT there. As it turns out he didn't even look at the board as he snapped me in a nanosecond.
I would like to blame this on the stake discrapency. This might be generally a much better play against a similar opponent at 100NL+ with an equally well defined range. This is of course utter BS. I should have known that I cannot get him off of overpairs. That's why setmining pre was an option in the first place.

Also: very nice one daviddem! Because you touched on it: Leak is kind of a misleading term for something that is exploitable. But in poker there isn't really an equilibrium strategy. Pretty much anything you do is potentially exploitable, but it only materializes itself as a leak as soon as it is exploited. Same with any stat or tendency that you would deem wrong, terrible or borderline retarded in an opponent, is not a mistake until you find the appropriate reaction and they do not adjust.

sexy huh, i'm probably the main advocate of this line. I do it with all sorts of shit, weak draws, strong draws, pure air, occasional nut hands, mid-strength made hands, etc. I prefer to call it 'pure'
