Default 5NL FR KK 3b pot facing small donk bet on flop

    MP3 is 19/7/3.7AF over 68 hands

I'd put him on 22-QQ,AKs,AKo for calling the 3b OOP.

Flop and he small donks. I never know in these spots if this is begging for a cheap card with an AK or a rather weird suck in bet with a set.

    Call? Raise?

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (9 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    saw flop

    Hero (CO) ($5)
    Button ($4.93)
    SB ($5.85)
    BB ($5)
    UTG ($5.26)
    UTG+1 ($3.31)
    MP1 ($2.73)
    MP2 ($2.99)
    MP3 ($5)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K, K
    3 folds, MP2 calls $0.05, MP3 bets $0.20, Hero raises to $0.65, 4 folds, MP3 calls $0.45

    Flop: ($1.42) J, Q, 4 (2 players)
    MP3 bets $0.50

    Hero?

I'd purchase the read that eludes you by raising.

I like raising the flop. You have a realistic chance of stacking him and you need to start building a pot now.

I'd probably raise to $1.25 and call a shove.

I am interested to know why $1.25? This lays 19.1% pot odds, isn't it a little too little?

I realize that if he holds AK, he has only 7 outs vs the 10 he may think he has though.

Next question is, if he shoves over a raise, does he do that with AK often enough for calling?

I wrote that reply when tired so it's not a great answer. My idea behind $1.25 is it might seem to him that he has some fold equity with AK and shove a good %, but tbh this is guy is likely straightforward so we are crushed by his shoving range on the flop unless you think he donk/shoves AQ (assuming he has it pre flop).

Don's idea of calling seems good.

Given villain's stats I'd probably call since we are IP. Another option is to raise and maybe fold to a jam? Sounds really really nitty but if you raise and he 3bets you're like never ahead...

    He just wins, mmkay?
I think your range for him flatting the 3bet OOP is off.

I'd find it more likely for him to continue with something like 77-AA, AQs+, AKo. Possibly wider, but he appears to be a little weak/tight given PF stats. (Small sample, etc)

Given this, he's probably not donking 77-TT, AK. Probably more like AQs (3 combos) and JJ/QQ (6 combos). He could obviously be donking much wider, but mehhhh.

If we raise, we have to fold to a 3bet which has already been stated. If we flat, he will probably continue to barrel with AQ and with his sets. On the off chance he donked 77-TT/AK he'll most likely give up now and we can check back.

im raise/calling....all he needs is a couple combos of AQ to go with his JJ/QQ/AA thats not including any spazz or KQ that he could also have.

obv if his range is AK/QQ+ then id flat the flop and try and see a showdown for cheap. But given his stats i wouldnt think that is the case.

    Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Talk about being overly optimistic o_O. Also, apparently "a couple of combos" = almost every AQ combo left? Raise calling here is absolutely terrible vs this type of player.

if we raise to 2 dollars and he is calling our raise with AQ/KQs/JJ+ then we have enough equity to raise for value on the flop
if he then shoves JJ+, we only need him to shove 3 combos of AQ to be able to raise/call profitably

i agree this is optimistic and he may not even have AQ at all.
