Default Connecting Computer to the TV

So I recently started doing the Insanity workout and I discovered my vizio lcd tv has an rgb slot so I took my monitor cable and hooked my laptop up and did my workout. I'd like to continue to use this to watch movies but the RGB slot doesn't seem to be the nicest of quality but I'm sure that's not the only thing affecting the picture (shitty video, poor resolution, etc).

What's the best way to connect my computer to the TV? I've seen people use the monitor cable, hdmi converters, s video cables, etc, etc. What else should I keep in mind? Max computer resolution? How to get the movie to be full screen, video players, etc?

Resoluton of the TV and the resolution of the video out... as well as the video resolution of what you want to see. S Video is the popular method, as there is likely an S-video out on you PC if you have a secondary video card...

There are also video cards that can be bought that output TV type signals... there are tons of options, just get out there and look around... VGA (the RGB port) is probably ok for most, but not if you want to watch HD stuff...

You have an xbox 360 don't you? I just stream through that over my wireless network. Don't know how quality compares to other options though.

    I am Queens Blvd.
I just copy video files onto a USB drive and throw it into my PS3.
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

I Just finished installing Win 7 and struggled with getting my 42" plasma via HDMI-DVI back. In XP I had no issues hooking up my TV to my on-board Vid card and ran my two monitors on my duel PCI. Nothing has worked so I currently going back to XP for now.

I think my usb drive is the format it doesn't support, and I really don't want to reformat.
