    Default steal questionn

So lately i've started opening up alot more on the Btn at 100nl, getting my steal to 53%. My question is, how high can this % be b4 it stops being profitable. Does it depend on each individual's relative skill level/stakes? Is there a recommended % i should be aiming for?

obv your steal% should be really high if you got a guy that only plays QQ+ to your left.

    So, yes

It should probably strongly depend on their tendency of folding blinds to steals really.

Your stealing frequency or how successful you need to be will also depend on your size of opening on the button.

This seems like there are various ways of coming up with a semi-decent gameplan either by using empirical data or using EV calculators, as well as both. I think it not only depends on how often they call preflop (obv. some people in the blinds mean we can steal 100% and show profit) but also our level of skill postflop. Like if we aren't the best at exploiting then we obv need to cut down on steals. Even if we think someone folds too often preflop we may have such a leak where it's actually not profitable.

Then there's also our bet sizing, etc. I think I'd run a few steal filters if you have enough hands and try to find some spots where you think you could improve and see how profitable you are at the time and check for improvements after x amount of hands. I don't know this post is a ramble but I think there's a lot you can actually study either by running filters or using some study tools and figuring out theory.

Get it as high as you can, 4b bluff once or twice when ppl start playing back to show them who's boss. Then if you're still getting played back at too often I'd start tightening up again a bit.
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

The amount your opening with will also change your steal success % needed as well. You also need to account for all the hands that aren't steals in your opening range. I'm not sure if you have figured on this or not, but when you steal 50%, there is quite a bit of that range that is for value. If you open to 2.5x and are successful 50% or so I would say without the math your doing ok, anything else would probably be profit. Open to 3x and you obviously need more success.

This too, once I found out I only needed to 4bet bluff once in about 4 steal attempts to BE I settled down against 3bets and started to get paid more when 4betting premiums
