Default $1 HU-SnG | 10/20, villain bets pot on river

    No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 10/20 Blinds (2 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Hero (BB) (t1520)
    SB (t1480)

    Hero's M: 50.67

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, Q
SB calls t10, Hero bets t80, SB calls t80

    Flop: (t200) J, 5, 7 (2 players)
Hero bets t120, SB calls t120

    Turn: (t440) K (2 players)
Hero bets t200, SB calls t200

    River: (t840) 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, SB bets t840, Hero ?

Villain is unknown, second hand of the SnG.
Losing player at 5NL, so take my advice on your hand with a grain of salt. Also I'm not a native English speaker, so I suck at writing as well.

Bet 60 pre. No need to get frisky, you are still probing a villain.
Flop is kinda dry, and we have no info on villain so we gotta assume he is at least somewhat competent. Cbetting is okay here. I might discount small draws because he called kinda strong preflop bet.
I think if I would go for second barrel I would bet more... 280-320. K is a good card to barrel again since you picked up 4 more outs.
Give up river obviously, I don't think J would ever fold here.

Still early in the tourney, so I'm looking for inexpensive information about his playing style.

That's a pf hand that I'd check when he just calls the blind.

OTF - look to do a c/r, but if he checks behind then lead the turn

shotglass you make no sense. AQ is way too strong of a hand to not raise for value.

And why are you c/r'ing an unknown without init? Why would you expect them to just always stab when checked to without any information suggesting such?

nekro: we do not have to assume that villain is competent. First of all they're playing a $1 HU SnG. They also limped without any dynamic so they're probably pretty bad. 80 pre seems fine OOP.

OP how can you think of doing anything but folding the river. The only strong draw on the flop got there on the river (except 64 I guess but they're probably just checking that back). We have to assume all sorts of stuff of the villain to make this call but we have no reason to think anything but that they have a strong hand so just fold.

Doh, sorry, just woke up ( ) and started typing half blind. Didn't notice villain limped. About that competent villain thing...I was trying to say not to go out of the line, no matter how good/bad villain is.

But still, I feel fine with twobarreling and c/f-ing bricked river. (although c/f-ing turn would be just fine too)

I would make it 3x preflop, cbet flop and cbet every flop at the beginning of the sng.
If called, check back the turn and try to show down the hand if not improved on the river to see what the opponent is about. We have showdown value.
If improved on the river, then we can get some value.

No need to bluff off our stack at the beginning.

If you're gonna bluff the turn at all you should most definitely be bluffing the river. His range seems really weak. I really hate your river check if you're gonna bet this turn.

If we're discussing what to do now, it feels like a cointoss
