I was obviously over exaggerating, but I still am not making the progress I'd like to. Seems no matter what I try, some 60/4 is right there waiting to luckbox his way to my monies.

OK, well you've definitely done 2 things right so far:
1. you've joined FTR
2. you've contacted Carroters about coaching

1 thing that you haven't done yet that will help enormously is posting some hands here. Get the HHs for any recent tough spots, and post for advices.

BTW - r u playing full-ring or 6-max on PS?

Beating 2nl isn't rocket science. Post your stats and that should give a clue to what you're doing wrong.

Basically never bluff, always bet 2nd pair+ and 8+ out draws. Avoid the call button as much as possible.
You really don't need coaching for that. All the information you need is in the beginners digest.

Play fundamental ABC poker. If you are not sure what that means, check out the beginners digest and read everything.

Highlights of ABC play:
-Play most of your hands in position. (HJ, CO, BTN)
-Seldom call. Be the aggressor on almost every hand you play. Passive play is losing play
-Bet your strong hands the same as your bluffs (balance your range.)
-Do not call 3-bets. 4-bet your value range, or fold. For 6-max, value range is JJ+, AK. For 9-max, QQ+, AK+
-3-bet your value range minimum of 3x the original raise. 4x-5x is fine at <5NL or as a squeeze. (squeeze is 3-betting after a raise and a call(s) )
-C-bet 100% of flops heads up
-Barrel turns when your perceived range improves (a face overcard hits, a flush comes in, 4 to a straight hits board etc).. or if you have what you believe to be at least 5 outs.
-I would suggest no 3-barrel bluffs.. only bet the river with strong holdings, ie. top pair+
-Bet-fold, do not bet-call or check-call. At 2NL a reraise usually means strength.. lay down anything < two pair when reraised. There are exceptions, but for the most part.. this will get you on the right track.

Outlaw's post is excellent, but a couple of points...

-Do not call 3-bets. 4-bet your value range, or fold. For 6-max, value range is JJ+, AK. For 9-max, QQ+, AK+

With the exception of setmining with correct odds (effective stacks at least 15x the call). It's ok to call 22-JJ to a 3bet if implied odds are sufficient. x15 is a good place to start with setmining odds, as you improve with range and reads this can be tweaked against certain villains. For example, if you know villain only 3bets KK/AA and always stacks off with them, we can get way with x10 and still make money, but you need to have a very solid read to draw on a set at this price. Setmining in a 3bet pot is more profitable against nits who only play big hands and can't lay them down, setmining in a 3bet pot against aggro players is less profitable, if at all. Use your HUD and notes.

At 2NL a reraise usually means strength.. lay down anything < two pair when reraised. There are exceptions, but for the most part.. this will get you on the right track.

Exceptions being big overpairs against villains we know like to stack off with top pair, and tptk against villains we know will stack off with any piece of the flop. Emphasis on we know, be sure to be taking notes so you know who these people are, if you don't know then play it safe and fold.

How the hell do you beat it?!

the same way you beat anything else you can't already beat.

you study poker, you talk about poker strategy with other people, you review your hands and try to think how you could have played them better, you post hands/ask questions you are unsure of to better players and think about the advice they give, you think about your opponents' games and try to figure out their weaknesses, you analyse your own game and try to figure out how it could win more/lose less money,

you keep doing that until you're winning. if you want to win more, you do more of it. if you want to win less, you stop.
