There were over a dozen in the direct-sign-up ones before. (I could check to get the exact numbers on exact dates if you'd like).

Good to hear this one'll be in the lobby again. Hopefully we get enough in it to have it run.

    Is it unlimited rebuys, or 1 rebuy/ 1 add-on?
  10. #10
    Unlimited rebuys, 1 addon
  11. #11
Just curious why it's a re-buy tourney because a lot of people are turned off by that structure, me included. Have you ever considered dropping the unlimited re-buy portion? Because otherwise it sounds like a great tourney!
  12. #12
Unfortunately I don't have full control over the structure but I'll take the comments on board and see what we can do moving forward!
  13. #13
We have less than a week before this event starts.
  14. #14
will sign up tonight ,orf said 12 last time so should run, unless the rebuy factor turns the players off

I prefer the rebuy format personally.

I'd also prefer to be able to play it tomorrow

Sunday's game requires 'ticket' & I have been issued my ticket for this month's game (YAY!!).... BUT.. it won't let me register because it is also requesting a PASSWORD! (< huge sigh )
  18. #18
Blah, I was told the password would be removed and the tickets added, not that there would be both. I've emailed Bwin and if they can't do anything I'll post what I believe the password is here.

Tournament is being redeployed as ticket only PO, so you should be able to register now

Just curious why you say that? Are the majority of the tournaments you play unlimited rebuys? And if you had to choose between only playing unlimited rebuys OR freezeouts, you would choose rebuys? I find that hard to believe.

I find rebuys are too heavily weighted towards bad play just to run up a big stack during the rebuy period. So now you also have to make bad plays to compensate for this wider range ppl are playing. (obviously a different 'type' of tourney, but seems to get away from playing poker how it was meant to be)

As it's free entry and rebuys are optional you can play the rebuy period like a freezeout and just adjust for people playing wider. You'll never have to "make bad plays" and if you are you're just adjusting really badly. If people are more willing to gamble then that's a good thing for good players, not a bad thing.

If I had a choice, I'd only ever play rebuys. They play deeper as people have much higher average starting stacks at the end of the rebuy period, people just hand you chips punting off in the rebuy periods, and the prize pools are much bigger than freezeouts with the same buyin because of rebuys.

Interesting, appreciate the input. They just seem like more of a donkfest to me, kinda of like most freerolls, where there'll be 4-way allins and your big hand gets crushed by like J9 over and over. I mean what options do you have, you can't just start folding premiums preflop. I guess in the long run it technically should work out tho. You just have to go into it willing to invest a fair chunk in rebuys if you want to compete. Maybe it's just not my style, I dunno.

But to be honest I didn't notice that it was a free entry so props to FTR for that.

You're telling me you'd rather a guy folded J9 when you had aces than went all in?
  24. #24
no, obviously not. I was referring to a range of hands with a lot of AK's and AQ's in there down to like queens/jacks etc..

You want people to go all in light If rebuys encourage others to spew and to keep adding money tto the prize pool then I can't see why you'd be against it. Sure, it might encourage a bit of gambling and decrease the amount of "real poker", but that tends to return after the rebuy period is finished and if the game becomes way softer then I think it's a good thing?

Yea I agree, with most of that. Maybe it's just the structure where it basically encourages loose plays to try and build the biggest stack possible before the rebuy period is over. I mean if you just sit and wait for big hands and don't get any or very few, you're basically screwed once the rebuy period ends because everyone that's left will have huge stacks in comparison. And if you do gamble it up, and manage to donk up a big stack you most likely had to invest several rebuys and now won't even breakeven with a min cash. As I said, I guess I just don't like the structure, maybe it's just preference I dunno.

You're missing a few things here though.
Donks who donk it up don't often have big stacks at end of rebuy period but even if they do, they're donks (I like when donks have chips ).

Also (especially in a smaller filed rebuy) those chips the donks are donkin' it up with are still on the table. So you lose a few.. consider it a loan.

Also, a 'min-cash' in a rebuy is often 6x the size of an initial buyin. (check on lobbys 'completed games' to see what I'm talking about.. ie. MicroMill today $3r/a first itm wsa $17.32. Compare that with a Stars $3 freezeout where they're getting $3.74 or something. It's a big difference!

Ya, I def see your point about the smaller fields. Do you think the micromillions rebuy payouts are similar to a normal rebuy? And if you think about it, approx 5-6 times itm payout is only two double buyins and an addon, which isn't hard to do, and then you're only breaking even for a min cash. Happy donking

Yes. Check the $3r/a that runs twice a day on Stars (first one is at 14:30(ET)).

I forgot to come back here to post after the game.
    No rebuys, just an add-on & took 2nd of 13 for $46.50

sigh busto hand, HU 20+bb's effective, villiain min-raises to 1,000
HERO 3bai 10,390 w AKo, Villain snapcalls with QJo & gets there

Fun game though. Lots of donking as usual.

tks for holding the game for us

I emailed Bwin over a week ago and I've not had a reply since so doesn't look like this will run again in December, sorry guys If someone with Bwin installed could just check in the lobby if it has been scheduled already just in case that would be great
