    Default [10NL] QJs...Blind vs Blind...3bet pot...line check.

Villain is 24/22/14 over 102 hands. Fold blind to steal, 69%, 3bet steal 23%, 3/13.

Cbet is 36%, no decent sample size for cbet in 3bet pots.

    Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

    BTN: $26.07
    Hero (SB): $21.24
    BB: $10.30
    UTG: $10.60
    CO: $15.22

Hero posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has Q J

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.30, BB raises to $0.90, Hero calls $0.60

    Flop: ($1.80, 2 players) J T 3
    Hero checks, BB checks

    Turn: ($1.80, 2 players) 7
Hero bets $0.90, BB raises to $2.20, Hero calls $1.30

    River: ($6.20, 2 players) 5
Hero checks, BB bets $2.00, Hero calls $2.00

Villain was a little 3bet happy so I really don't see how I can fold pre. Is there an argument for a 4bet here? I think we are probably in good shape against villain's 3bet range so I think calling as opposed to 4betting is the better option.

He chk back on the flop. I assume he missed the flop as with a 36% cbet he seems to only fire when he has made a hand.

I bet the turn and he raises, really not sure what to make of this and I think this is probably the key part of the hand. I don't think villain would chk flop with like TT/JJ/33/JT, it's possible he could have 3bet me with something like 98s or 77. He could also decide he is going to bluff with like AK/AQ/KQ something like that, I decide to call. Good/bad?

I chk river planning a c/c and he bets small enough that it seems ridiculous to fold.

    Thoughts?

Even when villain is 3betting too much, QJs doesn't play well against his range OOP imo. Loads of better Qx and Jx and very little Qx and Jx and we even have some reverse implied odds when we hit our flush because he will have a lot of Axs in his range. Calling may be ok though, I dunno.

Why are you betting the turn?

If you only expect him to bet his made hands and you have a hand like QJ on a J high board then what are we trying to do? Get him to fold all of the stuff we beat anyway? Maybe get a very rare call from something like 88 (which I don't think we do all that often). Do you really expect because you checked he thinks you're trying to take the pot down with nothing so he calls with like every possible overcard. Best case scenario we get calls from KT, AT.

When he raises we may aswell give up once again imo, his range just beats us so much and he doesn't seem the type to be raising that many bluffs in this spot.

I think if we check the turn and river is a blank we get more bluffs from him trying to take down the pot with his A high and crappy bottom pair type hands that we beat and can get value from and if he checks behind we are ahead of the majority of his range and he is likely to bet all his KJ, AJ, sets, two pair (stuff that beats us etc etc) on the turn.

When he bets tiny I think it pretty much sums up the fact that we are beat, but if you call make a note of what he bets so small with I suppose.

I play it the same. Im not advocating this play tho I just think im too suspicious. I might fold river to a sizable bet. He could prolly get more than 2 bucks tho

I play it the same but bet much harder on the turn. A ton of his flop ck back range is peeling a turn bet.
