I have played this in home games, but never online.
This article shows the 1/6 scoring system. You can play 2/4 as well.
Basically, ignoring royalties and the occasional push, in a match up, either it will go 2:1 or 3:0.
In 1/6, there is no bonus for winning 2:1, scoring 1 point, and a huge bonus for going 3:0, scoring 6 points.
In 2/4, there is a 1 point bonus for winning, either way. So winning 2:1, scores 2 points, and winning 3:0, scores 4 points.
In 2/4, it is commonly, but not always, the case that a foul still counts as -6.
I find that introducing the game to someone w/o royalties makes it much easier and more fun to get started.
I also play with the rule that any player, at any point in the hand, can surrender for an automatic score of -3 (this automatically forfeits any royalties this player would pay due to opponents hands).
Also, are those "standard" royalties? I've seen many different royalty systems.
