How did I play this like I was on crack? A player with a little amount of chips goes all in. I re-raise to isolate the player. I am representing strength here. Its not my fault that the other player called my bet. I could see if I was the one calling the bet with sevens but I represented strength. I knew I had the other guy beat and I wanted it to be one on one. What do you want me to do ...call the raise and have the other guy call too, then move in on me on the flop. Then I have to throw my hand away. If I call, he raises me all in then I have to throw in my hand. If I just raise a little bit he still calls and could take the pot from me later. I felt an all in re-raise was necessary here. He made the mistake, not me.

Anyone else care to comment on how the hand was played?

i am not fnord (or toasty or humphrind ), but i'll throw in my two chips:

ollis was clearly making his stand as the low stack with his ducks. i don't know if i would have called him with 7's, but you had a big enough stack so maybe it's worth taking a chance on.

however, once bperr entered the hand, with you only having 50 chips invested on low pockets, it's clearly a fold to me. and why the all-in? based on bperr's call, i would have been surprised if he didn't call your all-in. i would have also put bperr on a much stronger hand, not one that i'd want to tangle with having only 7's.

i think on this one, you got very lucky. just my opinion...

Not trying to kick you while you're down or anything, but yeah, you overplayed those 7's. Flat calling the small stack might not be such a bad idea but once somebody else beats you to it, you pack it in. You are a coin flip at best, and possibly a very big underdog. Stop smokin' the crack!

Seriously though, I've made the same type of play before myself. I try not to make those kind of plays anymore. You sometimes get lucky, but often get dominated.

That's what I would have done... except.

Look at position. You still had bperr acting after you. And bperr had already called the all-in. Your position on him said you should have layed it down, because he would probably call any raise. To try and tip the odds in your favor, you could have called the all-in, then waited for the flop to make your next move.

No, it's not your fault that he played 77 bad, it is your fault that you played 77 bad. You had 1 player who already commited almost half his stack, and you asked him to go 3-way all-in with you only having 77.

He made the mistake, not me.

You both made the mistake. It wasn't one or the other.

Fold to the all-in + call. 77 is a dog in a 3-way pot and you're too often dominated.

If you were second to act it would have been ok (coin flip vs a SS), Its the fact someone has already called an all in, is why this is a fold.
