Default Question about Empire poker bonus/withdraw ..

I currently play at RoyalVagasPoker, and am thinking about trying out empire poker because of how many here seem to love it...

The problem is that I dont want to spend any more money on poker for now =)

My plan is to open an account, deposite $50 for the $25 sign up bonus, and then, play with the $25.00, and if i dont like them, withdraw the $50.00 in a week or two..

Is there anything stopping me from doing that?

    Thanks
    David

There is a required number of raked hands to play before the $25 is released to you. Read their website for more details or email them at [email protected].

I dont mind them requireing raked hands (and if i was them i know i would as well), just hope they dont require so many of them that i'm forced to spend more than the $25 to get the $25 .. i'm not exactly a great player.. yet..

    I'll write them in a few... =)

    Thanks for your help

Hey, i just checked at party poker (they actually have a phone number on the site, and are the same as empire poker i'm told)

so 125 raked hands like you said, but the annoying thing for me is that the smallest table is .50/1.00 .. i'm used to haveing .05/.10 or .25/.50 =)

Makes me nervous because i'm not a good player yet, but as long as i dont do something stupid and chase something like AA with a JQT flop i should be fine =P

Barring a really bad run of luck anyway..

A bad run of luck is what scares me, i could lose the entire bankroll with just haveing 50* the BB and no more..

I'll probally still try it though..

Thanks very much for your help =)

Yes those are good, probably better than an understanding girlfriend.

Where can I find one of those?

I have a gift certificate to bestbuy, or Wal-Mart do they have them there?

Hello! I play at Royal Vegas just like you, and I think it´s a good place to play. As you say, Empire and Party don´t have the low stakes you find at RV, and to play there you would need a much larger bankroll than just 50 bucks (at least $250). And if you have $250, why not wait til you have $500 and get Party´s and Empire´s max bonus ($100)? Royal Vegas is nice, I deposited $20 in november, got $18 in bonus and now I´m up at $178 just playing the .05/.10 and .10/.20 NL tables. Once you develop a winning game it´s not that hard to get the snowball rolling, and developing your losing game to a winning game should be done at low stakes tables, not at Party´s $25 buy-in with a $50 bankroll.

I should add that I´ve had some swings, 38->20->60->40->110->45->178 so I would recommend you to deposit a decent bankroll from the start (at LEAST $50, if I would have had my 110->45 downswing in the beginning, I probably would not play poker today).

    I started off great, 20 -> 80 -> 20 -> 4 ..

Not sure if it's bad playing or a bad run, but i suspect it's bad playing.

But i've been playing less than a month so it's really to soon to konw anything.

lol! yeah the swings can be frustrating sometimes. Probably you should stay at low stakes (maybe play super-micro at PokerStars or UltimateBet) until you know when you´re losing due to bad play or bad beats/second best hands etc. It doesn´t take too long to learn to recognize that you´re having a bad run, two things are important by then: a) sufficient BR and b)not going on tilt because of the frustration (and those two things go hand in hand).
