You probably should of bet the pot. I doubt he would of called his pair with 3 over cards out there
"When you're rich, you don't write checks. Straight cash, homey."

"Just call me Frito-Lay, cuz I gots all da chips baby!!!"

    No, I'm afraid that u didn't.

Your bet should be measurable to the size of the pot. In this case, there was $1 in the pot and u bet out 25c. This smacks of weakness unfortunately. It sort of suggests that you want to take the pot down now, you kind of have a hand to do so but you are afraid to commit chips just in case

better to win lots of small pots than lose big ones.

Good and bad flop. Good you paired, but bad that there is a potential straight draw. You want a pot sized bet to find out if somebody has or is willing to chase the straight. In this case they didn't even have the draw but saw the turn for cheap and you paid. He would have folded and you take down a tiny pot, which is better than losing a bigger pot.

yeah as I educate myself I am finding that out the hard way... better to win alot of small pots than loose a big one...

i calculated if i layed down some of the ones i couldn't let go... or if i bet more aggressively where they were drawing... i would have probably been up $15 rather than down $22 which for me is a big swing when i am trying to build my bankroll...

just a frustrating night.. but educational

I would bet bigger there, at least pot-sized, or go for a big check-raise if you thought one of the players behind you was likely to bet.

Given the smaller blinds and call-happy game texture, why would you want to raise this pre-flop?

    1. Fold preflop.

    2. Bet 2/3 pot AT LEAST on the flop.
