Made hand on the board cancels itself???
Last night in a home game, a diamond flush was on the board. 4 people in the hand at showdown, 3 had a diamond. Turns out they had this wierd rule, that if a full hand is on the board, it cancels itself out, and the next highest hand takes it down. So somone w/ a pair of A's ended up taking the pot.
So then there was an argument between people that thought the pot should be split, those that thought that the board cancels itself , and those who know that the highest 5 cards win regardless.
I wasn't in the hand, so it didn't affect me right then, and it's not my house, but if I had been the guy w/ the high flush, I wouldn't have let that slide.
We finally convinced almost everybody, and agreed that from now on we'll play correctly. But has anybody else ever heard of a rule like that? I understand somone new, mabey not realizing that not all flushes are equel. I don't know why, but it seems some people have a hard time grasping the whole highest 5 cards idea. But canceling the board???
