3 quads in one day
I played for about 3 hours today and got quads three times. I won a sizable pot each time.
My greatest accomplishment was quad aces -- then two hands later I hit pocket aces again for a tidy sum. My opponents were rather perturbed.
I also saw another guy get quads throughout the course of the day (from three of a kind on board).
All of my quads were from pocket pairs, concealing them quite nicely.
I beat a full house of 55588 (he held 55) with 8888, for a handsome sum.
Now the odds of hitting quad aces is 1 in 54,145. The odds of hitting any quads is 1 in 4,165. I probably played 700 hands today (5 at a time). Thus, it is highly unlikely that I would get 3 quads in one day, and see quads yet another time. The odds of hitting quads 3 times in 700 hands has to be astronomical. I had quads more often than I had a flush or straight. That's unbelievable.
Shout out to me.
Probably not that interesting, but I thought it was noteworthy that there are some days when you get some amazing cards. The psychological trap is to think that such luck will continue in the future and bet according to that notion. That's something most poker books will tell you. You never want to allow past memories of big scores to cloud your judgment.
