    Default SB special?

Some background: UTG+1 had been making his money through raising with any 2 when weakness was displayed. He'd shown down some astounding hands, and I'm attaching an example from two hands prior to this one. Given that read, do you do anything different here?

    Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

    MP1 ($124.4)
    MP2 ($64.6)
    MP3 ($62.2)
    CO ($138.9)
    Button ($50.25)
    Hero ($33.8)
    BB ($85.8)
    UTG ($93.5)
    UTG+1 ($99.35)
    UTG+2 ($302.4)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 5, 8. Hero posts a blind of $0.5.
    UTG calls $1, UTG+1 calls $1, 2 folds, MP2 calls $1, MP3 calls $1, 2 folds, Hero (poster) completes, BB checks.

    Flop: ($6) 8, 8, K (6 players)
Hero bets $3, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $3, MP2 folds, MP3 folds.

    Turn: ($12) 3 (2 players)
    Hero bets $8, UTG+1 calls $8.

    River: ($28) 6 (2 players)
    Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $8, Hero bets $21.80 (All-In), UTG+1 calls $13.80.

    Final Pot: $71.60

    himself fucker.
    KJ?

If I was playing the hand, I wouldn't even bat an eye before pushing on the river. You know he'll call thin.

Aye, he probably would have, but I wanted to be sure. Until he turned over Q8.

On hand one, there's no value at all in the check-raise on the river. He's only going to call you when you're beaten. You should've checked to give him a chance to bluff or bet a weak hand, and then called. This also serves to minimize your losses if you have a losing hand.

On hand two, you also should've check-called on the river. What is the value in going all-in on the river with two pair when there's a four card straight on the board?

In most cases, I agree with you. Given the play of this opponent throughout the session leading up to this, I disagree. He'd have called my all-in holding top two pair on hand one without a second thought. Hand two, the value is in the cards he plays. I was very confident he didn't have the Q, though I was shocked that he held an A with such a low kicker. I was suspecting something more like Kx, though only part of me expected he'd hit the flop that well.
