    I assume it was a satellite to a satellite? I don't see a $3 tournament coming up with a 10k prize pool...

With 750-1000 players and a promotinal tie in a $3R&A could easily afford to give away one seat with change left for second place. Hence, my crapshoot comment. There is a pretty good chance someone on this site will win an event like that.
  11. #11
I played one of the $33 R&A's so far, came in like 90 something.

Does anyone know what would happen if someone under 21 won a WSOP satellite? I assume they would receive cash compensation or something.

I'll win a seat, sometime after coming back from Monte Carlo (at the airport right now). Count on it. It'll be my main focus after coming back.

I sold half my W$, but still have 7.5k of them. Its more of a question, to me, of how much of my W$ it'll take.

Good luck to everyone in satellites!

    3) I'm too level headed to drop $10k on one result. Consider that Soupie usually plays 4 events every day where he's probably one of the top 10-20 players in the event. On a good day he finishes ITM in 2 of those events. Many days he doesn't money at all.

They're Tourny dollars he was given because he won a seat to Monte Carlo and then won ANOTHER one, he could only take one seat so they gave him 15000 W$

For those stuck behind a firewall this is what that link says:

When you qualify to any special event through a satellite, you have the option to unregister from the target event and receive W Dollars* (W$). These W$ Dollars can be used to register in any other qualifying PokerStars special tournament, including Sit & Gos, and satellites. If you win multiple seats to the same target event, the value of these seats will be automatically credited to your W$ Dollar account. Current W$ special events include:

    * WPT Caribbean Adventure 2005 (PCA)
    * The European Poker Tour (EPT)
    * The World Cup of Poker (WCUP)
    * Word Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP)

You can check your W$ balance at any time by visiting the cashier window in your PokerStars lobby.

If you have any questions about your W$ please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

Damn, Fnord....you hurt my feelings. Anyway, I'm not sure what your definition of serious stab is, but I plan on putting some time and money behind the effort. Played the $33 R&A Saturday with Rada and Rippy and placed 49th

Anyone that wins through PokerStars will have to be wearing PokerStars clothing to get a free hotel room. Probably similar for other sites as well.
  33. #33
If you seriously want FTR gear on the WSOP, probably your best shot would be to come up with a staking agreement with Soupie. But even that is a longshot...

I saw somewhere where someone was selling W$ for cash. You might be able to .75 on the 1.00 if you wanted to go bad enough. That may be an idea to help get a seat.

If someone won a seat through stars in the main event, they may be able to buy-in directly to one of the other events or something with smaller stakes and get FTR some exposure that way and still maybe have their room payed for.

Do they run satellites to some of the non-main event tournaments? If you already have a seat to main event, maybe winning a direct satellite to one of the other events while you are there would be a way to get some FTR exposure without violating any other agreements.
  35. #35
Interpoker was running a 2 for 1 special, I don't know if it is still going on. Win an entry into the main event and they will give you and entry in to the $500 or $1500 (not sure which) buy-in event for free.
I'm not sure they regularly televise the small buy-in events??? Ive seen: Limit, Raz, PL Omaha, and the Main HE event....Hmmm

They do televise the smaller events. I remember seeing Chris Fischman win a bracelet. I think it was the 1500 Nl tourey. They were touting it as the battle of the dealers, because three or four at the final table were ex or current poker dealers. They are televised far less than the ME obviosuly, but they are still televised to some degree. As much as they replay all the wsop events, the exposure would be good publicity nonetheless.

Hey I will make you guys a deal,

Everyone chips in to stake me into any of the events (just the buy-in, i live 90 minutes from vegas and can sleep at my house) and I will head to toe wear FTR gear. I will get an FTR tatoo, and I will spell out FTR with my stack of chips on the table.

oh ya, and i will put up whatever I win as prize money for a FTR members only tourny.

    deal?

I think for anyone to consider it, you'd have to put up at least half of your funds. That way everyone would know you have something to lose also, not just anyone who may stake you in it.

Or you could rent your house out to anyone going who needs a spot to crash. If enough people take you up on it, that might pay for a buy-in by itself.

both great ideas. consider them added to the deal.

serious, my house is dope too, i got a pool and a hot tub, anyone who is going to vegas and needs a place to stay can crash on my couch, and i will go down and sit at the tables with you or whatever. consider this an open invitation

Bah, in a $30 rebuy satelliete that only gave one entry, but just needed 2.2k more in the prizepool to pay out two packages, I finished 2nd today.

I lost two big all in preflop races with AK at the final table, after getting there with the biggest stack. By the time it was heads up, the other guy had a 4 to 1 chiplead on me, and I couldn't get the double up I needed to make it interesting.

I'm gonna try to qualify online just won a 200$ satelite seat, for a tourney on the 26th so that'll be my first stab at it.

I made the final table of a live Satellite today in Wendover. Gotta go back on monday to play the rest of this shit out. The suspense is killing me. I am third in chips out of Nine guys...

anyone with any last second pointers? PM me or E-Mail me or something cause i am really freakin out about this tourny. I am not really a MTT kind of guy, i have just been making hella ballsy plays and have almost pooped my pants like 15 times.

there were 250 entrants. top 2 go to WSOP main event. All of us at teh final table can choose entrance into a 1,500 event + travel or 3k cash. I am gonna take the cash if I dont main event.

I believe he got his seat playing the WSOP steps on Party.

Most sites clearly say that you must be 21. Some also say that regardless of age, you cannot sell your seat to anyone.

And if you had any wild ideas of wearing your favortie Flop Turn River gear, good luck. In most of the rules and regulations you are required to wear the "poker rooms" gear. For instance, if you win your seat via Party Poker, you are required to wear their promotional clothing.

Yeah, once you win, they want you to be their little bitch.

If I make it to the WSOP, I'm tatooing my website on my forehead.
Ok, maybe it will be a henna tattoo.

This isn't exactly true. On some sites you get the seat and maybe a little spending money regardless of whether you wear the site's promotional clothing. They offer free accomodations if you agree to wear the gear. Maybe Tyson can spring for the hotel room and get someone to wear the FTR stuff.

    Just a thought.

    For example, on Pokerstars:

An entry in the World Series of Poker $10,000 final event, running July 7-15, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Winners receive a buy-in to the $10,000 final event, $1,000 spending money (and nine days of hotel accommodations if you'll wear our very fashionable logowear.)
    http://www.pokerstars.com/2005wsop/main.html

This makes sense. The $11K comes out of the prize pool. It's the accomodations they are offering as a bonus.

Honestly, if Tyson agreed to give me free FTR shirts I'd wear them at the WSOP. I would of course where my Phil Helmuth Sucks shirt under it though, so that when I bust him and he starts crying, I can take off the FTR shirt and show him that one. I'm sure that will make his day.

If I get some made, would you wear it and model it for the TV cameras?

And it must be worn on the proper appendage.
