RERAISE ALL IN OR FOLD?

I was wondering in the late stages of a tournament, when you have say 13000 in chips and blinds are 1000-2000, and a player limps in early/middle position, and you are in late position with 99 specifically, is it best overall* to reraise him all in and gamble at this point or just fold it? I hope I know what im talkin about when I say this but....The expected value of the hand is positive (99 is ahead preflop too 22,33,44,55,66,77 and 88 but losing to TT,JJ,QQ,KK, and AA. And if re-raising a limper all in with about 6x the big blind is justified with 99 in late position...this is only because of the expected value of the hand right? In other words I shouldnt try re-raising a middle position limper with 22 all in when im short stacked in late position.....

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, but when you have 6.5x bb, 99 is looking pretty good for pushing. When the blinds are that big there is always the danger of someone slowplaying a big pocket pair, but you don't have enough of a stack to really worry about that.

Im talkin about when someone limps before me,.... for example utg+2 limps 2000 into a 3000 chip pot with blinds at 1000-2000, pot now equals 5000. I have 99 in late position with about 13000 chips. My question is, at this point whats best overall* to do?

If your goal is to get ITM, then fold.

If your goal is to win, push.

I will agree with pushing here, there are other hands other than PPs that he might have, and he folds most of them to a push (you'd better off if he folds since the pot is quite big at this point of a MTT). All these hands are a coinflip for you. Unless he played AK so passive, theres no non-pocket pair hand that he calls here (and if doesnt have pockets you dont care IF he calls with AK or JT or any other hand). Add the fact that a tight player will might fold up to JJ here and I think the correct play is pushing. Also depends on his stack. If he has the same stack as you I'd be more reluctunt to push here cause I might get called by more "coinflip hands".
If he's a big stack he might have limped a smaller PP and call since he's probably putting you on an Ace and a face card.

Push for sure. He'll have an overpair about in 30 times in this spot (random estimation), and its much more likely that he has a smaller pair. With big blinds, its extremely rare that somone will limp with any high pair other than aces, and its stll very rare with aces.

With a smaller pair like 22, then it gets interesting, since 99 should become an automatic push for you when you're this short stacked. If the limper has shown any tendency to limp and then fold marginal hands to raises, you should shove with any pocket pair and any other decent hand. If he's shown that he'll limp call regulaly with big hans from early position, its an easy fold. If you have no read, you have to go wth your gut instinct, but you certainly should at least consider pushing with any pocket pair in this spot.

Ok, so most agree to push in this situation, but this is due to the expected value of the hand...right? In other words, same scenario, you wouldnt push with expected value hands like AT or QK, 77 or 22...right...or would you?

I say this is more due to the fact that the blinds are 1000-2000 and you only have 13000. You need to make a move.

I would consider moving in with AT or 77 depending on who the limper was.
