It will keep on growing until all the suckers have lost all their money, then poker will go back into hibernation.

I don't really see it as a fad like some do... I'm sure there may be a drop off but it won't be crippling, there will always be action. I think what we're seeing is how many people like gambling but don't like:

just because something is banned in the usa doesn't mean it will suddenly, or ever, go away. just look at napster/limewire/grokster/bitorrent/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc. online poker has a long, bright future. 90% of people are still discovering it exists right now. as i wrote in another thread, this is like where the internet was in 1995.

I hope they don't ban it. It would probably be kind of like banning alcohol during the prohibition.

Internet gambling won't be banned! They make too much money off it. Why would they want to lose money? I'm sure governments get a lot of tax for the amount certain sites make. Right? |

i dont think the government gets much if anything. Remember all online gambling sites are based off shore. |

The gov't gets nothing from online poker. It's neither legal nor banned. It's just a legal grey area.

internet taxes haha ... The future of online gambling is that it will not be banned, and it will to continue to grow. People will be gambling forever, it is a human desire. Hopefully poker will continue to be the greatest means of this gambling though.
