Serves the other guy right that you got lucky here. He hits top set on the flop. Bets $2?? into a $10ish pot gets only one call. Then proceeds to bet $3 into a $14 pot. (Granted he was not the PFR he called with the JJ and was probably expecting a nice pot by the river to be his)
Up to now I can understand if he is just trying to keep people around to pay him off, and is trying to look weak or whatever. But isn't this a really bad move with the posible gutshot straight, posible flush, draws out there that people are most likely to call these mini bets in order to draw out on him.
But now this is where I get confused as to villans play... You raise his $3 bet on the turn to $10, good play IMO need to know where you are sitting. He then calls the raise??? I would be very tempted to re-raise again here, or just push. Up till now only thing beating him is the 10/9. Not sure what he was waiting for here. Then the 9 hits making it any 10 will beat him the 9 is also a heart making a flush draw posible as well. But Now he decides to bet larger and goes for a $20 bet....
Personally if I was Journey I would just call this river bet as well. Too likely he was trying to build a pot with the Say a AJh top pair, top kicker, nut flush draw that hits on the river... I would call knowing I have a good chance to take it down, but see no reason to risk more with an all-in move here since he likely won't call it anyways unless he has the flush.
Bad Play by Villan leads to a nice pick up by Journey...
Although I would really like to see how one of you explain how an all-in on the river would be a good play here since the only hand that will be calling is the only one you can't beat (Unless Q/10 was out there but that is just dumb)
