LAG = Loose Aggressive: Raises alot of starting hands preflop, and plays very aggressively post flop, whether or not he hit. Good LAG players will destroy tight tables if they are good at reading and knowing when to fold and not get attached to hands. LAG is a playing style that is basically required for someone to learn to play high stakes NL games.
TAG = Tight Agressive: Is very selective about the hands he chooses to call/raise with preflop, and plays very agressively post flop, much like a LAG player does. TAG works very well against loose passive players, (AKA calling stations), and even better against weak tight/passives. This style works well at lower limits, where most players fall into these categories. At higher limits though, a TAGG player will have a very hard time keeping up with a good LAGG player.
Does this help any?
