alright, i realize my mistake was made preflop in flat calling. but this was a fairly large raise for the table and i didnt expect callers behind honestly. if anybody raised behind i was reraising.

that said, on the flop i decided i was 50/50 to be wayyy ahead or wayyy behind. i could see a weaker overpair push the flop given the preflop action OR he could have a set. i could see no possible reason for a set to push that flop so i called. results are below...

    journey0075: im sure im behind

um...yeah. You definitely should NOT have caleld that all in. It's another $100 to go and you're calling? YOu have to believe you're behind here. A weaker overpair wouldn't have gona all in, and contrary to what you thought, the only thing paying off top set here is an overpair or AKs, both of which may call his all in. Personally, I wouldn't have gone bonkers with all in there, and would have either check-raised or bet the pot, but to each his own.

At any rate, you lucked out and really should NOT have called there.

    himself fucker.
I can survive the preflop flat call but I don't think you're quite 50/50 ahead or behind. In your shoes, I'd put myself much closer 25/75 ahead/behind.

    HAHA....

    I was in this hand (I'm taffy_jones).

This happened shortly after I had recognised journey's name and introduced myself as a fellow FTRr.

Journey knows he made a mistake here and I think he was a little embarrassed about it. I think he may have been worried that I would post it here before him.....lol. That right journey?

I have played against stef (the all-in guy) quite a few times and know him as a tight - very aggressive player. When he hits a hand he doesn't hold any chips back (as the above example shows) so I knew journey was in trouble in this hand.

Stef kept going on about this hand for the next coupla hours - he was not happy. I think he got suckered by the river on another big pot a short while later too. Poor guy.

But hey, that's poker.......happens to all of us.
Sometimes we get lucky, sometimes we get crapped on.

Hope to see you at party again soon Journey.

    .

i saw it as a coinflip honestly. 50% that he was overplaying a weaker overpair and 50% that he had me crushed.

i had coinflip odds so i called. lord knows my read was off...

and yeah, i posted it before taffy could make fun of me for it!!
