Whats up with the limp, check/call plays ??

Ive played the .25/.50 6max tables on stars recently, and the way ppl play make me fall asleep. Why do they insist on limping ANYTHING, they never raise preflop and if they do its a min, then after that they refuse to bet anything, just check call it down.

why does anyone play like this ??? My problem playing against it aint that it aint profitable, its just BORING as hell.

The way you combat this is by betting/raising more than you usually would because they will call you down with marginal holdings when you hold strong hands. Alternatively, you can check out aok's counterplay strategy in the beginner's section.
