Lol i'm sorry i guess i'm just in a bad mood, ugly weather and all that. No i wouldn't have called there, with 4 people in the pot someone has a K, 7, a mid-PP, or possibly the other 8. This hand is super passive so you can't really put anyone on anything. There could be suited connectors in there which ahve 7's or an 8 in them, Kx, someone limping 6's or 9's or T's... You have no way of knowing that you're 5's are good here as it was just checked down. Don't forget why we limp small pairs, to make sets .

Is there anything wrong with taking a stab at the pot on the turn? With the hand getting checked around, I think i may have made a move on the turn in last position to take down the pot.

Is this a bad idea? I'd toss the hand if i got reraised, and likely fold on the river if a king or ace shows up and i get bet into.

By the turn there isn't a lot in the pot to take a stab for. It would probably take a pretty hefty bet (pot sized) to even scare out over cards or A high on a trippled up board. And if you get called, you have to worry about getting slowplayed. I think its best to just let this hand go, if you were holding 99 or TT, i'd say take a stab at the flop. Underpairs to paired boards with 4 to the flop are rarely gonna take down the pot in my experience.
