Anyone else feel like hitting a boat on me?

Default Anyone else feel like hitting a boat on me?

Seriously, 3rd time in 3 days somebody hits a well hidden boat on the river on me while I'm trying to bet just enough to keep them in the hand. You would think I would learn to lay this down by now...but nope. This guy was playing very loose earlier but tightened up a little leading up to this hand. Every time there is a pair on the board I have to fold a flush or straight? That sucks. Are you guys seriously laying these down every time? Sorry to sound like a whiner, just frustrated.

Well played. I like the smooth call you made on the river when raised. What else can you do? This isn't even a bad beat. It's just plain old variance. You lost the minimum IMO. Don't spend too much time thinking about hands you played perfectly and lost. Shit happens.

If you only ever lost with minimum money taken in bad variance hands like this one, then you would be one of the best poker players on the planet.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?

No mistakes there as far as I can tell. His raise on the river may have been trip-4s but you wisely resisted the urge to reraise. In general, flush and straights should be wary on a paired board.

    What he said.

I actually walk away from this hand thankful that I didn't lose much, much more on this hand.

You played it well, can't do much about the outcome.

I played this the exact same way I played the nut flush losing to a boat - except for the river. Last time I pushed after the reraise. So, I learned that taking a smaller profit (or loss) is better than taking a shot at somebody's stack - at the expense of losing my own - when I don't have the absolute nuts. I appreciate the feedback on this and the last one. You guys helped save me some $$.

There is a little telephone next to your name in my poker tracker Plus, by my observations you were playing very loose early, but then tightened up as I mentioned.
