Default Laying down Aces Post flop

I usually play 25NL ring games and want to know everyone's thoughts on what situations to lay down Aces post flop. I personally do not trap with Aces. I will raise anywhere from 4x to 6x the BB. I feel your chances are just as good to get callers or even a re-raise instead of trying to trap and losing to J4 offssuit. Here is a recent hand I folded Aces which I think is pretty obvious, but maybe not. I understand on flops with 3 of the same suit and maybe even 3 dangerous straight cards folding may be the best option. Are there any other situations? I have lost money to people hitting sets when I have Aces. Is there a good way to detect this, or is it just a normal cost of playing? Thanks for the advice.

Well, before I saw the result I figured it was KQ. I usually make that call. The initial bet on that board usually means he does NOT have the flush. They would try to play it slower. If this is heads up, I never lay this down to that bet. I do get burned occasionally, but most of the time at 25NL I see KQ make this play - especially if it's a tight player.

But...when in doubt err on the side of caution. So, I would say you made a disciplined fold here.

if you think you're beat lay it down.
Good discipline here to guess your beat especially with the rockets

Next time you post a hand history please put the results in white, so nobody else can see them. Or leave them off.

In your example above there is no way in hell I am folding this hand. It's only $1.80 more to call his all-in. If you're beat, you're beat.

I'm a LOT more afraid of people check/calling my bets than I am with somebody pushing on me. Check/callin screams a set or two pair, and they want you to keep dumping money to them When someone straight pushes on my AA, I'm usually readin that as a hand that is strong, but not so strong. They're wanting you to fold a lot of times, not necessarily going after your entire stack.

Now if it's a SMART player...Then it comes down to reads, what you've seen that player do in the past, etc...

Thanks for the advice. It was 6.80, not 1.80. There is no way I fold to 1.80. Here, I have no diamonds, but I would have called with the Ace of diamonds. I guess it was 50/50 to me and it turned out to be right, but I can defintiley see your point about being more afraid of check calling then pushing, but at 25NL, at least in my experience, people are not that tricky. Any other advice is greatly appreciated, I've been playing for a while with moderate success and after reading Harrignton's two volume bible, I'm really seeing results. Another question, how different is the 50NL or 100NL game. My BR is about 750 right now, up from my intial 50. I'm pretty content playing 3 tables at a time 25 NL with a tourney mixed in now and then. See ya.
