5xBB PFR get's no respect everywhere I've played 25NL, make it $2 to go with AA and KK...

Some fish might push with the flush draw, but most of the time I'm folding here to the set/two pair. Unless I want to Gambool. I think your chances here are less than 50% Simple fold for me.
    Hey knucklehead! Bonk!

And while making that bet you might as well type into the chat that you have Aces in case there are some REALLY stupid people at the table.

You must keep your raises consistent to hide your monsters and your steals.

If you had been raising 4x-6x all along, then this raise is fine.

I think I would lay this one down without a read.

I drop this hand everytime. People make a lot of money on opponents that can't lay down AA, KK, QQ, & JJ. You are beat by QJ or any two hearts. Do you know this opponent's tendencies? I guess he might slow play JJ, but the other sets are raising the flop.
I have seen fishier plays, though this isn't strong enough to call without a solid read on opponent.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

Well, here is the result. I was a little on tilt because of the other table I was playing. It worked out, but I think this was a pretty bad call and I would never make it live. These people in 25NL will chase anything and then try and push you off a hand with nothing. Also, my pre flop raises ar always 4X-6X the BB, and up to 8X if there is a limper or two in front of me. This seems to work out well. Thanks for the reply.

Aren't these crazy overbets more often than not this type of play- Guys overbetting draws or very weak pairs? Why would a set or two pair try to push so hard on a non scarey board from a player who's showing showing strength with overcards/TPTK?

...because lots of people can't lay down a big overpair, or even TPTK, and they'll think what you just described.

True, but that's against a thinking opponent.... do we give the majority of 25nl players that credit?

I don't know...I see that a lot. You pot(ish) the flop and again the turn after a PF raise. I don't think only a thinking player would go AI here with a set or 2pr.

    Call.

You're getting over 2.5:1 to call here with an over pair. It's 25 NL. Takes a pretty solid read to fold here for me.

$1.25 is fine at 25NL, especially if you always bet this amount. I bet $1.50 every single time - no exceptions. I do get plenty of folds with my monsters, but after they figure out I always do $1.50, they start calling.
