the drug test isnt' too see if you're doing something illegal, it's to see if you've been smoking pot.

Pot is FEDERALLY scheduled, that means if you live in Denver and you have a lot of pot and the DEA feels like arresting you, they can. This only means that the state police won't bother you for it.

DEA announces its counterplan to the legalization of marijuana in Denver

    November 8, 2005
    Don Smith
    Washingtonnews.com

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (10:39 AM)
The DEA made an announcement this morning after receiving news last week that possession of marijuana in Denver, Colorado, is not an infringement on the city’s laws.

DEA spokesman Jay Jason described the organization’s stance: “We're not going to tolerate any drug use, regardless of state laws. The federal law still applies to all Denver citizens.”

In addition Jason noted that, “regardless of how much marijuana a Denver resident has, even if it’s under an ounce, we’re going after them. That means you jfish.”

i smoked a lot of pot for 5 years. i'm 23 now and i don't like the feeling of smoking it anymore. I guess you could say I grew out of it. I never thought I'd quit, I was an advocate.

I come from Victoria, BC. Pot is treated about the same as alcohol there among most people and I agree with that. Hell, it's more accepted in some situations: most cops won't care if you're smoking weed, even while driving. I've been through at least 15 roadblocks after just smoking weed in the car, and all they ever ask is if I've been drinking. One cop even looked envious of me one time, it was great.

Another time, me and some friends were smoking weed in our car at the end of this quiet street in a forest-y residential area when a cop pulled up and knocked on the window. My friend rolled down the window and smoke poured out in the cop's face, whereupon he told us that it would be best if we just moved along. So, we drove around 2 minutes away to another such road and were smoking outside of our car (I think the moon was tripping us out) when the same cop rolls up behind us. Again, no mention of the pot... in fact, he asks us if we had witnessed any suspicious activity in the past half hour because there had been a break-in. I heart Victoria.

I feel that pot is superior to booze in so many ways both personally and for society at large. How many stoned frat boys pick fights? How many people have been killed by stoned drivers (that aren't also drunk, be careful of the stats being quoted incorrectly)?

My only problems with it are personal and those consist of my lungs kinda hurting after years of smoking it (occasionally I smoke cigarettes) and the amotivational factor.

pot should be legal for sure. It is so stupid that they make alcohol legal and not pot. I would much rather have stoned people on the road than drunks. People do more stupid things when they are drunk and pick fights that they wouldnt if they were high(i know this from experience). There wouldnt be as many men beating their wives.

    Quoted for truth!

Alcohol = violence, loss of control and inhibitions
Pot = love, happiness, and paranioa

Give one large group of teens a bunch of alcohol, and another group a bunch of weed, and see who starts the most trouble....

What's the point of debating whether it should be legal or not? No one gets busted for it. I know someone who moves 20+ lbs a week and has been doing so for a long time without getting busted. A friend of mine moves a pound or two a week as well, and we smoke at least 4-5 times a week. It's practically decriminalized. Cops have better things to do then waste their time going after people using class D recreational drugs. A big part of the reason why it is still illegal in the US is economical, not because its dangerous at all. About the only thing you can't do with pot is smoke it right out in the street infront of a police station while holding a neon sign that says "HEY COPS I HAVE A LOT OF POT AND I AM PROBABLY GOING TO DISTRIBUTE IT!" And even then, thats only if the sign is large.

    LMAO - I agree...

I know someone who moves like a pound or two a week as well, and my.. I mean his... wife is always like, "you shouldn't talk about that on the phone..." and I'm.. I mean he's like, "the cops have better things to do than listen to the phone calls of someone who could have less than a pound..." Times are changing, it seems like it's less and less of a big deal. Ahem.
