I'm pretty booked until Thurs evening. How does Thurs at, say, midnight EST sound? Maybe earlier in the evening?

Sorry, I didn't see Miffed's post (I usually ignore his posts so this is probably why). I also picked up that courtiebee and Lefou played just one match which she won, so you get to play her. The only other person who appeared to have made an effort to play was RubixSoho, but I don't have anybody else to play him... Suggestions?

    Midnight is fine.

Arkana, can you schedule a private tournament for this time?

Arkana: learn to type. foreigners pffft....

Arkana: It is unfair that you got to pick the HU fish. Randomizing my ass.. mate

How will we organize the final matches because there will be 5 winners after these matches? I am planning to suck out on arkana so that I will play the in the next round against his evil plans!!

Why would I pick you to play when I lost the last (and only) time we played a HU match? I did actually randomize them. :P

Good question. Allowing renegaderob1 and synthesist to play their first round match (even though they missed the deadline) would give us one more player that could then have a match vs RubixSoho (it appears his first round opponent didnt respond to his PM about their match). Its up to you guys if you want to allow this, but if we get stuck with an uneven number we probably need to draw virtual straws to see who gets a free pass to the next round.

Nice play on words. I'm good tonite or tomorrow night after 6pm. I have a slow connection at home so if you want to play at Stars, I can hang at the office and hook up with broadband. Or we could do Bodog or Pokerroom instead.

Let me know what works for you.

  15. #15
I recently got set up on IRC... If we have trouble, I also have AIM . Let's start with Stars, so we have the HH's. If we have troubles, we can move over to Bodog. Maybe Arkana could set up a few private tables private tables?

sounds good, help us out arkana!

well i lost to rockymv 1-2... i never felt over matched and actually thought i had the best of it. won the first match easily, lost the 2nd after a bluff gone awry left me short stacked. the last match i had him right where i wanted him 2200 chips to his 800 when i made my second major mistake that gave him back the chip lead, even so came back with a chance to win but fell to a suckout.
Not taking anything from rocky who played a good game, it was a good game and i'm definetly interested in doin this again.
argh.. i really wanted to make the next round so i could get creamed by gabe or arkana.

I'd just like to add that when thnwkd beat me "easily" in the first game it was because he had KK when I had JJ on a board of unders. Just thought I should make that clear. In the last game, he got me shortstacked with four sevens to my full house. The suckout in the last game was when I had 11 outs on the flop. I thought he was pushing overcards when he actually had top pair. It was a good bet, but it's not like I was that far behind. They were good games.

I am hoping we can do a tourney like this quite regularly. Its really good fun and maybe we can make it a more "official" FTR tourney, in between the gauntlets with maybe a small prize (or a title).

I'm travelling tomorrow through the weekend, so not sure if I could set up a fixed time for a second or third game after tonite. I'm fine with a "best of 1", so let's just go for it at 6...
  25. #25
Should I cancel the game at 7? (if i still can)
  26. #26
    Please do.

Stars didn't seem to have a problenm with me unregistering, So I say go ahead. Gabe?

I beat Dsaxton, but only becaues I'm good at coinflips.

It was a very long match, and he played it very well. We traded the lead a lot. I ended up getting jacks to hold up twice and sixes once, whereas my AQ beat his 66. VGG Dsax.

One match still has to be played which means we will have 5 players in Round III, how are we going to handle an uneven number of players?

I think you have to set it up with a bracket of 8 and "randomize" the byes. Maybe next time we could start out with an even bracket set where any byes will be in the first round. I used to play pool tournaments and this always worked well.

yeah ... drawing virtual straws seems like the only way to solve it.

ahiltz and i should be playing today.

Arkana - I know how to set it up this way. One random pair of players has to play one more match to get us down to 4, then its a simple 4,2, 1 chart.

Let me know if you want me to send you a line drawing.
