Default HU and he sits out???

This may have been discussed before, but oh well...........

10 man SnG. You get HU and the other guy possibly gets disconnected (he shows "Away"). Comes back almost immediately. Makes no comment about it. Doesn't ask for you to be friendly if it happens again.

You play another 10 or so hands and then he's "Away" again. You use all your time before raising and taking the blind. He insta folds to you. You use your time again, etc. Meanwhile you are typing in the chat that you are delaying. After 4 times of delaying what do you do?

Raise every hand, take the blinds and take 1st?
Sit out for a few mins?

I've been disconnected before HU and got blinded out when I had a 7400 to 600 chip lead. I wrote it off as hazards of online play and moved on. This time I was playing a $10 ($20's had no players at the time), so it's a $20 diff from 1st to 2nd. I said screw it and blinded him.

    Wastin' away again in margaritaville....
All is fair in online poker... I blind him down like a career criminal since I would expect the same if it happened to me.

I have never thought about that.

I once started a Heads up SNG and the guy was simply away. I blinded him down to about 1200 and he then came back...

I guess if they disconnect or if they're away it's somewhat their fault.

But in a high buy in or final table of a MTT i think that blinding them out would be very bad manner.

Agreed, but that is not the topic of this thread.

I have to commend you on your sportsmanship for delaying like you did. I had this happen to me once when I was HU with a big chip lead and my wife turned on the lights and tripped the C/B. By the time I reset it and got the computer back on and logged in, I had been blinded out. I'm sure my opp. took no such mercy on me.

    Take the money and run.

I have always blinded them out as fast as I could.

But a few weeks ago, I was playing a Omaha heads-up tourney and got disconnected. Took me almost 10 minutes to log back in and the other guy had set himself as away too, waiting for me to get back. He said that he just didn't feel right taking a win that way and would prefer to play for his money. Not sure what karma is going to tell me to do next time I am in his spot.

If it said he disconnected I would try to wait until I got annoyed and just blinded him out.

I'd never even consider waiting for them to come back.

This happens a lot on pacific...and for some reason I seem to get reconnected a tad faster than my opponent (i play the 200+10 SNGs). I play as fast as I can and look at the $400 prize pool with big dollarsigns instead of eyes. Not a chance that I delay. Ever. Especially so in an MTT.

do what YOU think is right, no one is going to fault you for blinding the guy out, that's just online poker for ya. but if you don't feel right about doing it, then don't and just sit out. he'll come back and be pleasantly surprised ... but like everyone else said, always keep in mind that hardly anyone else would return the favor, and that's the reason why i wouldn't sit out and wait ... with my attitude, it's a vicious circle :P it's bad sportsmanship, but what can you do?

Commended? Are you kidding me? He needs to be beaten and then banned for his total lack of respect for money.

I just had this happen yesterday - down to heads up in an SnG, I was at a big chip disadvantage (5500 to 2500 or so) and he got disconnected on like the third hand. I min-raised him into oblivion; he came back to about 1200 chips and didn't last long.

What's my point? None really, except it's sweet to get spotted a freebie for once. I have some connection issues at home so I felt like I was finally getting repaid for the chips and equity I've lost over the last few months, getting disconnected on an occasional key hand and so forth.

I had half the chips with 4 people left (bubble), got disconnected and managed to not even make the money. I don't know if the other players were just intelligent, or if they helped each other out, because there were 2 very short stacks when I lost power. I hold no grudges as long as there is no blatant collusion like deal making in the chat box. By the way, you don't have to min raise, when an opp is disconnected they auto fold their bb if you just limp.

I click min raise as fast as humanley possible and try to get every last one of his chips b4 he comes back.

Only way I don't blind him out is if he asked for a break, and I agreed or something.

For one thing, it can take FOREVER to blind someone out, so it's not like you're not workin'...

    I'm blinding him out ASAP

maybe if it was the FTR gauntlet i'd wait little... if i was in a good mood
