    f1nky ??

Should I have raised at any point? I'f he doesent have the Q (And I don't think he does) if I raise won't I be letting him off lightly? I feel I should be passive against hyper aggressive players but thats a big river bet (too big?) and theres a lot of ways i could be beat.

I'll post the results in a while, just want to see what other people think.

You have a weak hand and have gained absolutely no information by check/calling him all the way to the river.

At the very least you should have raised his flop bet. OOP like that I'm mostly looking for a set here.

True and against any other player it's usualy a flop fold / lead out, but here I'm heads up against a very LAG player with a made hand. Wouldent I gain much more value from his (most likley) bluffs then if I raise? If i raise the flop it becomes harder for him to make a mistake, he folds if he's got nothing, if he calls it could mean a Q or a flush draw, what do i do on the turn? If he raises he could have the best hand or it still could be blind aggression from a maniac PFRer.

I dont think i made the best play and its not my standard line, just wondered how bad it was.

I think against maniacs/serious laggs you're better off just being patient and waiting for a big hand. Then when you're way ahead play it like this and let him hang himself.

I imagine if you think you're ahead, you can grow some balls on the turn and check-raise/push- but I'm dubious if that's a good play. Anyone ever do that?

Well I called, he showed down A7o and I won the pot.

I know it was a bad play going against everything I have been taught, but it also (in this case) got the maximum possible value out of the hand so I was wondering if I should use it again.

Of course I was worried about the Q or a set but with his PFR range I feel I've got to be ahead over 50% of the time so why dosent calling down have the highest EV?

    Am I missing something?

sorry, I didn't notice the maniac description up top of the post.

the only time i'm check/calling to the river, is when i've flopped a made hand and i know the other guy is going to do the betting for me. you're dead to a buttload of hands here.
