First thing I am proud of about this hand is that I sensed weakness on his flop raise, and reraised appropriately. Then, bet into him on the turn. Then, seeing that he wouldnt fold, I am proud that I checked behind him on the river, instead of trying to push him off of a hand that he wasnt likely to fold. Comments.

Put him on a flush draw, and took it down on the river when it didnt hit. Question: do you bet the turn, getting more money into the pot, making it a bigger win when the flush doesnt hit, but also possibly getting the opp pot commited and making a call on the river with high cards?
I chose to check it to keep it small enough to be able to take it down on the river without too much of a fight.

ps. first time posting a HH, hope it doesnt look like shit.

Sorry, but hand #1 is horrible play. What are you trying to do here, portecting your blind?! Fold the flop! And as your reraise move didn't work out, fold the turn! Your pair of 6s is crap here. You gave 12.5BB away in this hand with nothing for no reason.

Hand #2 is even worse. FOLD PRE-FLOP! Save those moves for the tourneys. In ring games you will lose a lot of money with this stuff, unless you are a poker pro who really knows how to play the LAGG game. In this hand you were just lucky, he could have a T or a K w/any kicker and call you.

You have no reason to be proud of these hands at all. Don't take this the hard way - you benefit more from straightforward feedback. Wish ya good luck on the ring - playing a solid TAGG game will make you much more $$$ on this level than stupid moves!

you dont like anything from those hands? first hand is a little dodgy, but he was playing like he didnt like his hand, so i tested to see how much he liked it. he gets reraised on the flop and then checks the turn. i feel like i would be missing out on some chips if i didnt bet that (barring a slowplay read of course).
second hand, this guy would have bet if he had hit anything. he certainly would have bet the river with any hand that he thought was good after I check the turn. preflop was a little dodgy, but i am trying to work on my aggressive play with position.

i do appreciate the straightforward feedback, but i am playing this level to experiment a bit and work on trusting my reads. i can play the nut camping game, and have, but some situations lend themselves to different styles of play.

ps. hand #1, I should fold the turn when he checks????

Ok I didn't know you were just experimenting on a lower level, that puts things in a different perspective. I still don't like hand #1 - well, I meant check the turn. On hand #2 your river bet does make sense and it allowed you to take it down. But the general problem with bluffing in 10NL is that they usually call with anything on that level - often ruining even well-placed bluffs.

Hand 1: I don't like the minbet, but I think the important thing to realize is that you shouldn't pull moves like these unless you have a solid read on the guy that he can be moved off a hand when shown a lot of strength. At lower limits, showing weakness does not equate to folding. I like your analysis of the hand and what not, and if I were the villian in hand 1, I wouldn't have even seen the turn, but I think you should save your energy and concentrate on just playing a solid TAGG game.

Hand 2: Aside from the raise preflop I think you played the hand okay, although I don't really think your line makes much sense. What hand bets out the flop, checks behind on the turn, then fires a healthy bet on a seemingly harmless river card? I think AK/AA/KK, even QQ/JJ definitely bets this turn. Only hand you could have that makes some sense is QJ, but unlikely from villian's point of view. So I think if you really wanted to represent the board, you HAVE to bet the turn to make it believable. Again though, why are you raising preflop and firing at the river? Do you have a read that the table/Canesfan is tight? If the answer is yes, then nice hand, otherwise save your energy and money and fire up more tables.
