Villian just sat down. No read as usual. He might have a weaker 10, but I am a bit worried about 99 or 22 but 99 usually gets raised 6 handed so the only hand I was really worred about was 22. MAYBE T9s. ugh

Uh, nothing worse than chasing an obvious draw out of position.
It's not always a set, the flop raising is very weak, UTG bets $3 into a $5 pot there are a few callers, no one has shown any real power. All he does it pot it up , and all you passive players will fold. He could have something like KT, QJ or the same hand as you, just not suited. Sure set is possible... but very unlikley.

Your mistake here is not raising. You have TPTK + nut flush draw, you want hands like JQ to draw as expensivley as possible. You should have made a pot sized bet, and ih he still reraised you then no doubt your up against a quality hand, his reraising goal was just to chase away draws, standard play on his part.

I agree to open pot the flop, but doesn't that disguise his flush draw?

Say he pots it for $5, and gets raised $15? What's his line from there?

A pot sized bet is a meaningfull bet, this hand would have unravelled differently had he opened for more. It's these strange 1/2 pot post oak bets that will get you into a lot of trouble, because aggresive players like myself will rip them apart, i hate small stacks/small bets, if i was rookie6018 I would reraise to $10 with KT just to make the fishies draw for an expensive price.

You raise $3 into a $5 pot a guy behind you calls and the button pots it, what information have we gained? NOTHING, considerign you are UTG you must either raise or fold.

My general advice here is: RAISE MORE AGGRESIVLEY, by being the aggresor you put your opponents to the test and you will rarley find yourself in difficult siutations like this. If fire a big bet and it gets reraised big, the correct play will often be obvious, but with these strange 1/2 pot bets you never really know where you are at.

Especially considering the strength of your hand, TPTK + Nut flush draw, your goal here should be try and build as big a pot as possible, flop play you must pot it, even on the turn it would be a good idea to pot it again.

Hmm I see what you're saying. Thanks for the input Tom.

I guess my main problem is adjusting to ring games from sit and goes (which I usually play). In an SnG I usually don't make pot sized bets since a 2/3 size bet usually accomplishes the same thing since you can't rebuy in an sng. I guess I just have to get used to making pot sized bets at the correct time when I play ring.

The flop bet is fine. Make it $30 without hesitation.

Meh... on second thought calling isn't bad either. If he has you beat he probably will be too meak to get it all in. If you hit your flush then bet it hard.

He pot sized the bet here, don't be worried about a set because sets are generally played slower. A pot sized bet on the flop generally indicates TP.
