Not to bias anyone's response, but my gut reaction at the time he pushed was that he either had KQ or a flush draw (and was seizing a golden bluffing opportunity). No reads, hadn't been at the table with him very long. My third thought was that maybe he had a pocket pair and was pushing because he felt I didn't have a king.

What's your read on the villain? Let's assume you don't have one. My default line in that case is if he has the king I lose, and if he doesn't have the king he's capable of pulling a similar move later when I know I have him beat. Potential future implied odds create an easy fold. That's not weak. It's just logical.

If I just popped onto your table and you make a move on me when the board is beating me, I will fold in most cases.

I should add that additional fold reasoning would be your relatively minimal investment.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

After the flop there is no reason to continue firing. He's not going to call you with a hand you have beat unless he's on a draw. You threw out a very weak looking bet on the turn that will often get raised by somebody who is looking to capitalize on your weakness. Check the turn and fold when he bets, you're beat.

    Word.

Dale: I don't take you for a player that really wants to lose his stack out of position with JJ to any crappy K here. I think you take Rondavu's advice and wait for a better spot.

I like the bet out on the flop ($4 into a ~$6 pot or about 2/3), but that turn bet was pretty weak ($4 into ~$15). He might have even had junk/draw and taken your bet for weakness. After the smooth call on the flop you should probably try to check down if possible.
In answer to your question... it depends...
