Default Big draw hits on turn, how's my line?

    Gamb00lPoker&SportBook.com 100NL 8 handed.

Kinda tightish passive table loosening up a bit. I really haven't been out of line much. Last hand I played I button raised a loose/weak limper and a $60 stack pushed out of the BB. He's since busted.

UTG limps, UTG+1 follows, UTG+2 folds, I call with Q J from HJ, CO poster checks, BN calls, SB completes, BB checks.

7 to the flop, $7 in the pot.
    8 5 J

Checked to me, I bet $7, CO folds, Button raises to $14, all fold to me and I call.

I started with $101, button has $141. He's been off the radar, so probably tight/passive but really don't have much of a read.

Heads-up to the turn $35 in the pot.

    I bet $20...

Personally I would check repping a weak top pair that didn't hit a flush draw.
But now that I think about it more I like your move better. It's a confusing bet because you just called his min raise but you bet the turn. You're repping a strong hand but if he has a really strong hand such as a set or top 2, I think he'll push all in, that's why i like the move.

preflop and flop are all good.

I can't put him on a range with that flop.. A minraise from a tight-passive opponent, 55/88? A reraise for info with JT, KJ, AJ?

Not sure. I would also probably have checked the turn. Like it did play out it looks awfully lot like you bet a draw and hit it.

I'd bet out because it's tough for him to put you on a flush here, and he might put you on a draw and come over the top. The min-raise looks like he has a a set. I would bet out though so we can price him into giving the rest of his chips away by the river.

When I think about it I do like the bet... You are headsup for the pot, and like ais said, betting will price him into the pot.

    Incidentally, did it work?

When do you plan on getting it all-in? I don't think a wide range of hands raises here, even with a $20 bet. What is your image like? In any case, a limp to min-raise on the flop is pretty scary.

Do you really want to give Ax, Kx, or a limped PP nearly 3:1 here to see a river? Are you betting $20 here when you don't hold 2 hearts?

There are 19 cards that you don't want to see on the river.

    What's your plan if a 3, 5, 8, J, or heart hits? Check-call?

Weak players will check non-flush hands behind here a lot and I don't think anything less than 2pr/set calls pot here.

I'm just curious to see how you'd play this. I don't like to mess around with a very strong, but vulnerable hand OOP.

In favor of a $20ish bet, you would still be forcing them to make a mistake if they called. I suppose a big part of this comes down to your image and the amount of respect you have for your opponent. Against even a slightly fishy opponent, in your own words, I'm dropping the hammer here. Perhaps it would be smarter to try to push a smaller edge against a solid opponent.

    Check and think about calling.

Doesn't seem the type to make horrible calls. I generally pick up on them pretty quick.
