I think the are numerous reasons to why there are many swedish pros. One reason is that most swedes started to use internet early, and that many swedish players started as soon as the first internet pokerroom saw daylight. I don't think swedes pick up the game faster than anyone else, but what I do believe is that many of these succesfull young players are extremely competative. Many come from an e-sport/gaming background and many of the has devoted extreme amounts of time to poker. If you play serious poker 10 hours a day, study books/talk poker with friends etc. than you will eventually develop into a pretty good player. Of course this goes for anyone, at any place in the world... I guess people do this to an greater extent in Sweden. After all, there aint much else to do than hide inside, eat/drink/fuck/play poker since its so damn cold here 9 months a year. ..
Tell me, Gridlock, what's with all the Swedish pros? I mean, there are quite a few of them? How do you explain it? Do they start young there? Do Swedes just pick up the game faster. You know Fred/Oren, and Erik, how did they learn the game so well? I'm curious.
I do not consider that Anderson fool who kept screaming in the 2004 WSOP to be a good player just for the screaming alone.
